Kenapa hukuman tak berkesan untuk anak?
Kerana hukuman hanya hentikan tingkah laku sementara. Ia tak ajar anak apa yang sepatutnya mereka buat.
Ramai ibu bapa perasan: bila dimarahi, anak berhenti sekejap… tapi esok lusa tingkah laku sama muncul semula.

Dalam ABA, kami tengok sebab tingkah laku berlaku. Bila punca difahami, barulah kita boleh ajar skil yang betul.

Anak belajar lebih cepat bila:
âś” rasa selamat
âś” diberikan alternatif yang jelas
âś” dibimbing, bukan ditakutkan
âś” dapat pujian bila buat tingkah laku positif

Hukuman mungkin buat anak diam…
Tapi skil baharu yang buat anak berfungsi, berdikari, dan lebih tenang, itu yang akan kekal.
