Still pinching myself (and checking my pulse). 👀

Taking the stage at the 1st Asian Veterinary Conference here in KL was a major milestone for me as a veterinary physiotherapist. But let’s be real for a second: for the first 30 seconds after I grabbed the mic and looked up at that nearly full auditorium, I was about 90% sure I was going to faint right then and there. I think I actually forgot how to breathe and briefly considered if it was possible to accidentally choke on my own air. 🫨😂

Luckily, the “flight” instinct didn’t win!

Once my heart rate returned to a somewhat normal human level, it was an honor to discuss pain recognition and non-pharmacological support for ECC and hospitalized patients. Seeing so many dedicated vet nurses from across the region coming together to level up patient care was truly the highlight of the event.

I also had the privilege of connecting with so many seasoned speakers—their passion is infectious and a huge reminder of why we do what we do. The keynote session by was unforgettable.

As I look around, I’m hopeful that one day our community will grow even larger, with enough veterinary physiotherapists in Malaysia and beyond to support every clinic and hospital. 🥹
