Smilestone Paedatric Therapy Center is dedicated to provide professional, committed and quality Occupational Therapy (OT) for children experiencing delays or challenges in development (Autism, ADHD, Learning Difficulty, etc).

As Chinese New Year approaches 🧧, we brought the festive spirit into our sessions through meaningful play.

The children were introduced to the Legend of Nian, learning to “think with their eyes” and stay alert as they worked together to reclaim the gold stolen by Nian. The gold they recovered was then used to buy Mega Blocks to build a village 🏘️.

By understanding Nian’s weaknesses, the children learned how to defend their village—and finally, through a joyful dragon dance 🦁, they scared Nian away!

💛 “I did it.” 💛

Today, 5 children from our Life Skills Group showed us just how powerful learning can be when it becomes real.

With courage and determination, they used the skills they’ve practiced in class to prepare 25 sets of spaghetti with hotdog & bolognese, fruits, and Ribena for parents and children from “Peers for Pre-schooler”Program during their graduation day.

Each child worked at their own station—measuring, preparing, managing time, and pushing through fatigue without giving up. There were no shortcuts, only effort, focus, and perseverance.

And at the end of the day, they didn’t just clean up and go home.
They received their first salary—a moment filled with pride, confidence, and the quiet realization that “I am capable.”

This session was not about cooking.
It was about believing in themselves, learning responsibility, and taking their very first step into the working world.

Big shout-out to our wonderful social coaches (parents) and their amazing children for completing the PEERS®️ for Preschoolers Program in February 2026! 👏🏻💛

Over the past 16 weeks, we’ve seen so much growth — children practicing friendship skills with more confidence, and parents becoming empowered to support their child’s social development.

We’re so proud of every family for the effort, courage, and commitment you’ve shown.

✨ And this is just the beginning! We look forward to seeing you again in our upcoming “PEERS Play Club“, where families can stay connected and continue practicing social skills through play.

New year, New place, New Ideas🌻✨

🌿🦋 A Day of Courage, Learning & Growth at Entopia 🦎🐛

Recently, 12 Crawlies Captains and 33 amazing students from our Social, Life Skills, and Play Groups went on a meaningful learning journey to Entopia Penang, travelling together by bus and spending a full day immersed in nature.

Throughout the trip, we witnessed so many moments of bravery and growth. The children challenged themselves to interact with different crawlies, learned interesting facts about them, and pushed past initial fears with encouragement and support. 💪✨

Beyond learning about insects, this trip was rich in life skills. The children practiced staying with the group, following expected behaviours, adapting to a different daily routine, and being flexible. Many also showed incredible resilience by being away from their parents for long hours, managing a long bus ride, and remaining calm and regulated despite traffic delays.

We are incredibly proud of every student for stepping out of their comfort zone and giving their best. These experiences help build confidence, independence, and real-life learning beyond the therapy room. 🌱

A big thank you to our dedicated Crawlies Captains and supportive parents for making this adventure possible. 💛

🎄✨ Throwback to Our Christmas Costume Wonderland Party! 🎉 ✨🎄

On December 14, we transformed our space into a Christmas Costume Wonderland for the amazing students of our Occupational Therapy Social Group. The day was packed with fun and festive activities that brought everyone together in the true spirit of the season!

🎭 Magic Costume Contest: The creativity and effort behind the costumes were simply magical! Every participant brought their own unique flair, making it tough for the judges to choose winners.

🍪 Santa’s Cookie Crafting Class: A delightful session where students unleashed their inner bakers and decorated holiday cookies that were as delicious as they were beautiful!

🎁 Secret Santa Surprise – The Great Christmas Gift Exchange: The room was filled with excitement and smiles as everyone exchanged thoughtful surprises, spreading joy and kindness.

Thank you to all the students, families, and volunteers who made this event such a memorable success. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all again next year! 🌟
