“Someone bullied me today, and I don’t know how to respond.”
“My classmates deliberately make me lose when we play games.”
“I’m not sure why others don’t want to play with me.”
For many parents, particularly those whose children experience challenges in social functioning, these concerns are all too familiar.
Repeatedly, parents hear their children describe experiences of unfairness, exclusion, or mistreatment.
Despite their efforts, many children continue to struggle to establish meaningful connections and integrate into peer groups.
As parents and professionals, we all hope that children develop supportive, lasting friendships during their school years. Such relationships not only enrich the learning experience but also foster emotional security, confidence, and social resilience in daily life.
In many cases, these children are neither socially withdrawn nor unwilling to form friendships. Rather, they may have exerted considerable effort but lack the necessary social skills, or may unintentionally engage in behaviours that hinder successful peer interactions.
📣 In March,
We will be launching the third cohort of the PEERS Social Skills Training, designed for the following age groups:
🧒 School-Based (ages 9–12)
🧑🎓 Adolescents (ages 13–17)
Through structured, evidence-based group sessions, both children and parents will learn effective approaches to two-way communication, making friends, and managing common social challenges encountered in everyday interactions.
This programme aims to provide children with the opportunity to develop practical social skills, enhancing their confidence and their ability to navigate social situations more effectively.
