On 19-20 September 2024, a significant event took place at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). The activities included a Research Strategic Meeting and a General Lecture, which led to a promising conclusion. The discussions resulted in the establishment of a research collaboration, the sharing of facilities, the initiation of a matching grant, and plans for joint publications. The research focus of this collaboration will be on biomaterials, implant development, and dental personalized implants. The expected outputs from this collaboration include book writing, joint publications, the development of new biomaterials for dental applications, and personalized implants for dental use. This partnership aims to advance research and development in these critical areas, ultimately contributing to improved dental healthcare solutions.

On 18 September 2024, the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at Universitas Airlangga (Unair) hosted an event attended by the Program of Biomedical Technology, chaired by Prof. Dr. Suryani Dyah Astuti. The event featured expert talks from distinguished speakers, including Assoc Prof. Ir. Dr. Ardiyansyah Syahrom, ASEAN.Eng, who presented on “A Novel Approach to Personalized Temporary Implant: Degradable Orthopaedic Implant Produced from Biodegradable Metal,” Dr. Norhana Jusoh, who discussed “Fabrication Strategies Towards the Development of Pre-Vascularized Bone Scaffold,” and Assoc Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Nor Hasrul Akhmal Ngadiman, who spoke on “Additive Manufacturing for Medical Devices Application.”

On 17 September 2024, a meeting was held at the Research Center Building of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). The attendees included representatives from MEDiTEC, the Department of Biomedical Engineering, the Department of Medical Technology, and the Directorate of Research and Community Service. The meeting concluded with several key agreements: research collaboration, sharing of facilities, matching grants, joint publications, further studies, joint supervision, and the development of professional courses.

On 17 September 2024, a courtesy visit was made to Zenmed+. Zenmed+ is a brand under Zenith Allmart Precisindo, specializing in the development and production of medical devices. Their product range includes orthopedic implants, such as spine systems and traumatic implants, as well as electromedical devices like vital sign monitors and colposcope cameras. They also offer medical simulators for training healthcare professionals, such as CPR simulators.

During the visit, it was concluded that both parties would work together to develop medical devices, with a particular focus on orthopedic implants. Zenmed+ uses high-quality materials for their implants, including SS316, SS316L, and titanium, chosen for their excellent corrosion resistance, strength, and biocompatibility. This partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both parties to innovate and advance the field of medical technology, ultimately improving the quality of healthcare and supporting medical professionals in their work.

Additionally, Zenmed+ has established several global partnerships to enhance its capabilities and reach in the medical device industry. These collaborations help them leverage international expertise and resources to innovate and improve their product offerings, ensuring that their products meet global standards.
