舞狮悄悄走进病房，送上新春祝福! 🦁

在之前本院庆祝的新年和斋戒月集市庆典时，一位特别的‘嘉宾’悄悄走进了我们的病房，为病人们送上了节日的祝福。
从新生儿到老人家， 来自优大武术团的舞狮走访各个病房，将象征平安吉祥的柑送到了病人的手里。从刚出生的宝宝，到年长的长辈们，每个人都因为这份特别的惊喜而露出开心的笑容。

A special surprise: Lion Dance Blessings in the ward 🦁

During our recent Chinese New Year and Ramadan Bazaar celebration, a special guest made its way quietly through the wards, bringing festive blessings directly to our patients.
From Newborns to elderly patients, the lion from UTAR Wushu Club visited each ward with mandarin oranges. This unexpected visit brought smiles, laughter and a touch of festive joy to everyone present.

Welcome our Chinese New Year baby!🧧👶 拉曼大学医院迎接大年初二宝宝

On the second day of Chinese New Year (Chor 2), UTAR Hospital welcomed a precious newborn, bringing even more joy and blessings to this festive season.
The delivery was safely managed by Locum O&G Specialist Dr. Noor Azimah Binti Zakaria, with the support of our Paediatrician Dr. Ng Jun Jie and Anaesthesiologist Dr. Lim Zhau Hong. Post-delivery care and recovery were closely followed by Locum O&G Specialist Dr. Ong Lin Sun and Our Paediatrician Dr. Chua Yin Loong, together with our dedicated nursing team.

Congratulations to the proud parents, and may this little one grow up surrounded by love and abundant blessings.

Chinese New Year cm Bazaar Ramadan Celebration at UTAR Hospital

Yesterday, UTAR Hospital hosted a meaningful celebration that brought together the Chinese and Malay festive traditions. We were honoured to welcome distinguished guests from Renji Hospital, School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, led by Professor Dr. Chua Chee Wai, Head of the China–Malaysia Research Cooperation and Exchange Commission, together with professors from the university.

The delegation was joined by Ir. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ewe Hong Tat, President of UTAR; Professor Dr. Thong Meow Keong, Dean of the M. Kandiah Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UTAR; Dato’ Dr. Cheong Soon Keng, Deputy Chairman of the UTAR Hospital Board; and Ms. Hew Fen Yee, UTAR Council Member.

The guests were warmly welcomed by our CEO and Medical Director, Dato’ Dr. Ding Lay Ming, together with Dr. Mark Jeevan, Chairman of the Medical and Dental Advisory Committee (MDAC).

The celebration featured the Yee Sang tossing ceremony, a special Ramadan Bazaar prepared by our hospital departments, and an energetic lion dance performance that delivered blessings and prosperity to our honoured guests.

Thank you to everyone who made this meaningful celebration and visit possible. We look forward to fostering stronger collaboration and shared progress between UTAR, UTAR Hospital, and our international partners.

Sharing on “Yee Sang” preparation.

Today, we had the joy of celebrating Chinese New Year alongside Bazaar Ramadan.
Our staffs worked side by side to prepare the yee sang - hands busy slicing fresh vegetables, arranging each ingredient with care and laughter filling the room. The most heartwarming moment was seeing our Indian colleagues decorate the yee sang with such artistry, inspired by the intricate beauty of a Deepavali kolam design.

A reflection of harmony where people of different cultures and faiths come together in unity, respect, and celebration.

In conjunction with the Chinese New Year Public Holiday, our selected department will be closed for two days on next Tuesday and Wednesday (17 & 18 February 2026).
But please be assured that our 24 hour Accident and Emergency Department remains open as usual. Please do not hesitate to visit us if you need medical services.
