💙UTAR Hospital Welfare: A journey back to independence.
蔡女士（化名）在因中风入院时几乎无法活动上下肢，肌肉力量严重不足，连坐直都十分困难。中风不仅影响了她的行动能力，也彻底改变了她的生活节奏。
Mrs. Chai (name changed for privacy) was admitted to UTAR Hospital Medical Centre after showing signs of a right pontine ischemic stroke. Upon admission, she was unable to move both her upper and lower limbs, had extremely weak muscle strength, and struggled to sit upright due to poor balance.
医疗团队在评估病情后，为她量身定制了结合现代物理治疗与传统针灸疗法的综合康复计划。中医师与西医医生密切配合，监护她的病情和康复情况。
Recognising the severity of her condition, the clinical team designed a comprehensive rehabilitation plan, combining physiotherapy at the Medical Centre with acupuncture therapy at the Traditional & Complementary Medicine (T&CM) Centre. Both medical and T&CM practitioners worked closely together to monitor her progress.
蔡女士和她先生并没有孩子，而她的先生也没办法待在家照顾她。在她的兄弟姐妹和侄子的讨论下，家人觉得让她居住在医院安心修养，直到她获得一定的独自行动力。
Mrs. Chai and her husband have no children, and her husband was unable to care for her at home. With the support of her siblings and a close nephew, the family decided that she should remain in hospital until she regained a certain level of independence.
经过四个多月的努力治疗，她的康复成果令人欣慰。出院时，她已能借助助行器稳定行走，并能在短距离内独立迈步，重新找回身体的控制感与信心。
After more than four months of intensive rehabilitation, Mrs. Chai showed remarkable improvement. By the time of discharge, the muscle strength in her left upper and lower limbs had significantly improved. She was able to walk steadily with a walking frame and even take short steps without assistance.
自2024年11月起，福利基金分担了她部分医疗费用，减轻了家庭的经济压力。2025年1月2日，她正式出院，带着希望与勇气，继续她的康复旅程。
Since November 2024, the Welfare Fund has supported part of her medical expenses, easing the family’s financial burden. On 2 January 2025, Mrs. Chai was officially discharged, leaving the hospital with hope for continued recovery.拉曼大学医院福利部： 重新站起来的路程
