TOS is usually caused by compression of the nerves or blood vessels in the thoracic outlet, just under the collarbone. The cause of the compression varies and can include: anatomical defects, include an extra rib located above the first rib. Poos posture also increase the chances to develop TOS because drooping the shoulder/ holding the head in a forward position can cause compression in the thoracic outlet area. Trauma also one of the causes such as car accident, it can change the internal changes that then compress the nerves in the thoracic outlet.

Infants with CP frequently have developmental delays, in which they are slow in learning to roll over, sit, crawl, or walk. Decreased muscle tone (hypotonia) can make them appear relaxed, even floppy. Increased muscle tone (hypertonia) can make the bodies seem stiff or rigid. Children with CP may also have unusual posture or favor one side of the body when reaching, crawling or moving.

Most people experience no symptoms. When the symptoms do occur, typically include pain and stiffness in the neck. Spondylosis results in a narrowing of the spinal canal within the bones of the spine. The spinal canal is the space inside the vertebra that the spinal cord and the nerve roots pass through to reach the rest of the body.

If the spinal cord or nerve roots become pinched, might experience tingling, numbness and weakness in the arms, hands, legs or feet, lack of coordination and difficulty walking and loss of bladder or bowel control.
