Yesterday was Winter Solstice.
But in terms of health and Nature, it is the Ying Energies at its prime.
Most have the fixation that the Chinese word for Ying refers only to the lowly energies ie the dark side, the negativity and the low points in Life and Cycle.
Well, the concept of Ying and Yang has been studied extensively in Chinese philosophy.
Is it just pure Chinese concepts?
Chinese characters are pictorial in nature, ie you can see images or impressions from it.
The chinese characters for Yin and Yang are Yang (阳)& Ying (pinyin is Yin) (阴),
The radical (阝) is the "reference to source or origin" and in chinese, refer to the pictoral character that tells you the purpose or the category of the chinese word.
The only difference between the two chinese character of Yin and Yang, other than the radical fu 阝which means a word associated with place, is Sun (日 ) and Moon (月).
So Yang (阳) is reference to the Sun place in Nature, of being Hot, Dynamic, Strong, Powerful。
And Ying (阴) is reference to the Moon place in Cool, Quiet, Gentle, and Regular ie like its recognised quiet gentle power and influence on sea waves and tides.
Well, it is just Nature. Creation is Amazing enough to realise that everything and anything cannot be too Dynamic or Quiet.
We, Humans, are in the middle and we survive by harmonising with Both Summer and Winter.
