HEARING LOSS - HEARING IS BELONGING!
Yes ! my dear friends!
❤️ Seeing is believing, but hearing is belonging. It is joining in a conversation. It is sharing a joke, listening to a child's exciting retelling of a story, going to a play with friends, enjoying a romantic dinner with your spouse or having a good working environment.❤️
❗Age-related hearing loss affects one in three of us by age 65.
That shouldn't be surprising.
We've punished our ears with a lifetime of noise expositions — from industrial noisy work environments as well as lawnmowers and hair dryers to car horns and loud music.
Losing the ability to hear crisply and clearly can be isolating and frustrating. It can take away daily pleasures and can even threaten your independence as well as your work.
If you are having trouble understanding phone conversations, hearing above background noise, following a conversation when more than one person speaks at once or have the perception that people are not speaking clearly or mumbling. ➡️➡️➡️ Then you have a hearing problem.
😥 You often will misunderstand what people say and respond inappropriately.
😥 You will often ask people to repeat themselves and get complaints from others that the TV is too loud.
Hearing loss:
❗A person with a mild hearing loss may hear some speech sounds but soft sounds are hard to hear.
❗A person with severe hearing loss will hear no speech when a person is talking at a normal level and only some loud sounds.
❗ A person with a profound hearing loss will not hear any speech and only very loud sounds.
👂There are four types of hearing loss:
1. Conductive Hearing Loss is caused by something that stops sounds from getting through the outer or middle ear.
2. Sensorineural Hearing Loss occurs when there is a problem in the way the inner ear or hearing nerve works.
3 Mixed Hearing Loss that includes both a conductive and a sensorineural hearing loss
4. Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder hearing loss occurs when sound enters the ear normally, but because of damage to the inner ear or the hearing nerve, the sound isn’t organized in a way that the brain can understand.
🧑⚕️First talk to your doctor.
👂There are lots of possible causes of hearing loss.
✅Ageing or damage from loud noise over many years can cause Gradual hearing loss in both ears.
✅Ear infection can also cause Difficulty hearing in 1 ear, earache, a feeling of pressure in your ear, and discharge coming out of the ear.
✅ Earwax build-up can cause Difficulty hearing in 1 ear, itchiness, and a feeling like your ear is blocked.
✅A perforated eardrum can cause Sudden hearing loss after an ear infection, a very loud noise or a change in air pressure (for example, from flying).
✅ Some diseases like Labyrinthitis or Meniere's disease can cause Sudden hearing loss along with dizziness, a spinning sensation (vertigo) or ringing in your ears (tinnitus).
