After graduating from University of Manchester in 2007, Dr Sandev completed his period of housemanship in the North West of England before deciding to pursue Internal Medicine. He completed his MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians UK in 2012. After going through a competitive selection and interview process, he was awarded an opportunity to subspecialize in the field of Gastroenterology. Dr Sandev underwent extensive training for the next 5-6 years in various hospitals in Liverpool and Manchester. He worked in a few world renowned gastroenterology units including University Hospital Aintree. He developed competence in managing various aspects of luminal, hepatology and pancreatico-biliary diseases. He has a subspecialty interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), hepatology including advanced liver failure and advance endoscopy. Dr Sandev was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) by the General Medical Council UK and was subsequently appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist in Royal Preston Hospital in 2018. He underwent further training in Endoscopic Ultrasound under the mentorship of Dr Amit Maydeo, Mumbai in 2018 before returning to Malaysia. He has presented in local and international GI meetings and is still currently active in ongoing teaching and research. He is currently a Gastroenterology postgraduate diploma tutor with University of South Wales. He is also the Vice President of the International Medical University (IMU) Malaysia Alumni at which he spent his first half of his medical degree. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his family during the weekends, playing badminton, jogging and trying out new restaurants. He hopes by creating this page and the contents, this will raise the public's awareness about common gastrointestinal issues.
