Everyday, make time to express your love for the closest that meets you at the door each time you come home, or stands looking at you when you are about to go out with that look "you're leaving me at home alone", or waits outside the toilet door till you come out or stands next to you while you make your morning tea and most of all snuggles up to your side to feel the warmth of your body when the lights go out?

Seymour Bernstein, American pianist and composer passed away at age 99 on 30 April 2026. His life was embedded in the music that revealed the God within him.

"The most important thing is to inspire an emotional response for ALL aspects of life."

"That's how life is. It has conflicts, pleasures, harmony and dissonance. The same thing occurs in music."

"Most people don't tap the God within."

As I endeavour to learn Franz Schubert's Impromptu No. 3 in G-flat Major, a piece of classical music that has reached deep within my soul for the past fifty years, I can relate to finally completing this life's journey when I get to finally record it! 🪔🙏🏽

The 47 years of medical practice and of that time 40 years as a plastic surgeon, the passion, joy, commitment to finesse, loyalty to serve, being judged, fulfilment in patients to achieve their desired goals, failures as in 'could have done better', self struggles and neglect of health, must at some stage in the 'Day in the Life of a Plastic Surgeon' come to a close.

No other person in life can help you walk out through that clinic door as a surgeon but God alone and the 'walk out' is 'Let's Go!' into the next chapter of life with resplendence...a dazzling moment in time.

Why I Must Write My Memoir and Start Now!

Wednesday, 29 April 2026: Decision-Making
takes ONE moment in the power of the present when time meets eternity. 🪔

"If Life is your biggest project, Write it!" is the sound-bite I heard and wrote in 2022, five years ago, sensing there was this deep sense of calling that I should write my memoir. I did start to make notes and build a narrative arc to help identify the chapters that should be included.

The brain keeps score of our past in patterns that are stored only to be recognized when confronted with a stimulus that reacts to past situations.

One such recent occasion to recall of a past incident nearly fifty years ago during my teenage years brought to mind the immediate conviction that I will not be held prisoner to my past but writing about it will set me free...to forgive and heal.
