🎃Halloween is a traditional holiday in the Western world. Every year on the evening of October 31st, children put on makeup and masks and collect candies from door to door. Western traditions believe that Halloween is the time when the world of ghosts and monsters is the closest to the world, which is similar to the Zhongyuan Festival in China.
The origin of this holiday is different. Most of them believe that the Celts believe that the last day of October is the end of summer, and the beginning of winter is one of the important festivals of the year. They call it "Day of the Dead" or "Ghost Festival". According to legend, all kinds of evil spirits haunt this day, and the souls of the dead will return to the world to visit relatives and friends, so this night is especially dangerous. Therefore, in order to scare away evil ghosts, the Celtics wore masks and wandered around the village.
Although it is not popular in Malaysia that children go from house to house for trick or treats, we may take on this occasion for children to increase their knowledge and understand the traditions around the world to broaden their horizons.
Parents can also use this day to conduct a series of parent-child activities with their children, such as 🍪pastry making, 👹mask making, 👻storytelling or 📖historical understanding, etc.
We searched for some simple activities on the Internet for parents to refer to. Happy Halloween everyone in advance!
