🔥 What Your Child’s Symptoms Are Actually Doing

Fever, cough, and runny nose can make parents anxious.

But these symptoms are often part of the body’s defense system.

🌡 Fever helps slow down germs and activates immune cells.
💨 Cough helps clear mucus and protect the lungs.
👃 Runny nose helps trap and flush germs out.

They may be uncomfortable, but they are often helpful signals that the body is fighting infection.

Not every symptom needs to be stopped immediately.

Sometimes the body just needs a little time, rest, and support to do its job.

Most parents know about dengue… but have you heard of Japanese Encephalitis (JE)? 🦟

It’s a mosquito-borne virus that’s usually mild — but in rare cases, it can affect the brain and become serious, especially in children.

⚠️ Watch out for early signs: Fever, headache, vomiting, tiredness
Severe cases: confusion, seizures, difficulty moving

JE is more common in areas with standing water and animals like pigs and birds.

🛡️ How to protect your child: ✔️ Use mosquito repellent
✔️ Dress them in long sleeves
✔️ Clear standing water around your home
✔️ Consider JE vaccination (safe & effective!)

Not sure if your child needs the vaccine? Talk to your doctor.

Prevention is always better — protect your little ones early 💛

🤒 Fever? Runny nose? Cough?

Every parent’s instinct is to stop these symptoms as quickly as possible. But sometimes, these symptoms are actually signs that your child’s immune system is doing its job.

Think of minor illnesses as “training sessions” for the immune system. Each time the body fights an infection, it learns to recognise germs and respond faster in the future.

That’s how children gradually build stronger immunity. 💪

If your child is comfortable, active, and feeding well, it may simply mean the body is handling the infection on its own.

The goal isn’t zero symptoms —
the goal is helping your child recover safely and build resilience.

Swipe through to understand how your child’s immune system works. ➡️

Kids get rashes all the time, and most are harmless. But sometimes, a rash can signal something more serious.

🚩 See a doctor if the rash:
• Spreads quickly
• Is painful
• Comes with fever
• Doesn’t improve with home care

A red streak spreading from a skin infection may be a sign of lymphangitis — when bacteria spread through the lymphatic system. This needs prompt medical treatment.

💛 When in doubt, get it checked.
Parents’ instincts matter.

🫁 TB & Children – What Every Parent Should Know

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by bacteria and spreads through the air when a person with active lung TB coughs, sneezes, talks, or sings.

👶 Why are children more at risk?
Children’s immune systems are still developing, making them more vulnerable to infection and severe complications. Most children who get TB are infected by close household contacts, such as parents, grandparents, or caregivers — not from brief or casual encounters.

🏠 How does TB spread?
TB transmission usually requires prolonged, repeated indoor exposure, such as:
• Living in the same house
• Sharing the same bedroom
• Spending many hours daily in a closed space

Short visits, brief contact, or outdoor exposure carry very low risk, especially in well-ventilated areas.

🌬️ Ventilation matters!
Good airflow — open windows, fans, cross ventilation — can reduce TB transmission risk by more than 50%. Simple steps at home make a big difference.

💉 What about the BCG vaccine?
The BCG vaccine does not fully prevent TB infection, but it plays a crucial role in protecting young children from severe and life-threatening forms of TB, such as TB meningitis and disseminated (miliary) TB.

🔍 Why early screening is important?
Children who have been exposed to TB should be screened early, even if they have no symptoms. Early detection allows timely treatment and prevents complications.

⚠️ Watch out for symptoms:
• Persistent cough (>2–3 weeks)
• Prolonged fever
• Poor weight gain or weight loss
• Night sweats
• Swollen lymph nodes

✨ Key takeaway for parents:
TB spreads mainly through long, close indoor contact — not casual contact.
Ensure good ventilation, keep vaccinations up to date, and seek medical advice early if there is known exposure.

Saving this post may help protect your child ❤️

📱 “Text neck” is something our parents never worried about — but our kids are. 😣

Neck pain, stiff shoulders, headaches, poor posture…
All from hours spent looking down at screens.

When a child tilts their head even slightly, their neck muscles work 2–4× harder — and over time, this strain can quietly affect their growing spine 🧍‍♂️🧠

💡 The good news? It’s preventable.
✔️ Regular screen breaks
✔️ Devices at eye level
✔️ Outdoor play & movement
✔️ Proper study setup
✔️ Gentle stretches after screen time

❤️ Text neck didn’t exist in our childhood — and it shouldn’t have to exist in theirs.

News about recent Nipah virus cases in India may worry many parents 😔

Here’s what you should know 👇
Nipah is not new — it was first identified in Malaysia during the 1998–99 outbreak.

It can spread from animals to humans, and in some cases, between people.

✨ The risk of local transmission in Malaysia is currently low.
✨ There is no cause for panic.

What matters most? Prevention.
✔️ Avoid fruits bitten by bats
✔️ Wash fruits thoroughly
✔️ Drink safe, clean water
✔️ Avoid visiting pig and horse farms, especially with children
✔️ Practice good hand hygiene
✔️ Avoid close contact with sick individuals

🚨 If a child develops high fever, confusion, or difficulty breathing — seek medical care immediately.

Stay informed. Stay calm. Protect our little ones 🤍
