Assalamualaikum my Dear Sisters and Brothers
I came across the following message that beautifully outlines the lessons one may learn from the genocidal assault on Gaza - Palestine. The original message was in Arabic. I decided to translate it and present it to you.
If you want to learn lessons in faith, follow the news of Gaza; it's a testament to surrendering to God's will and having complete faith in His decree, both in its goodness and trials. In Gaza, life teaches us profound lessons, death reveals its many facets, heroism is born, and true men emerge.
If you want to learn lessons in jurisprudence, follow the news of Gaza; they perform tayammum due to a lack of water, wash their martyrs in their own blood, shroud them with dignity, and bury them in the same spot where they got killed. Their congregational prayers resemble bidding farewell to this life before moving to the next, and their fasting is a duty, not a choice.
If you want to learn lessons in Quran and its recitation, follow the news of Gaza; they recite it with utmost respect, extend its recitation in times of pain, and repeat its verses with hope, as if they were newly revealed.
If you want to learn lessons in purification of the soul, follow the news of Gaza; they praise and thank God unwaveringly, their hearts find peace, they criticize those who falter, and they oppose the enemy's evil with unwavering determination.
If you want to learn lessons in morality, follow the news of Gaza; neighbors care for each other, everyone is a migrant or a supporter (المهاجرون والأنصار ), partners in the cause and in seeking justice. Their faces radiate kindness, their feelings are sincere, their stance is noble, and their actions are honorable.
If you want to learn lessons in medicine, follow the news of Gaza; there you will find the spirit of Al-Razi and Ibn Sina, who provide care and rely on God's assistance. The sharp eye and the skillful hand of Ibn Al-Haytham did not neglect knowledge, and they saw the ultimate truth and pursued it sincerely.
If you want to learn lessons in history, follow the news of Gaza; it's a place where history is written with the ink of sacrifices, and countless stories are told. It's a place of heroism, where the footsteps of ancient Palestinians bear witness.
If you want to learn lessons in geography, follow the news of Gaza; it combines land and sea, plains and mountains, with a breeze that brings solace to its inhabitants and a tempest for aggressors.
If you want to learn lessons in industry, follow the news of Gaza; they have carved their path to freedom while others drowned in submission and disgrace. They have composed the anthem of their pride while others sang songs of surrender. In a time of death, they have created life, turning death itself into life.
Gaza today is my teacher; it teaches us dignity. When it speaks, let everyone listen!
