Assalamualaikum and greetings. It is my pleasure to unveil the March issue of Berita Ortopedik. In conjunction with International Women’s Day and National Women Physicians Day, this issue reflects on the contributions of women in medicine and orthopaedics, recognising the dedication, resilience and leadership that continue to shape the profession.

We hope this issue offers both reflection and encouragement as we continue working together to strengthen and advance orthopaedics in Malaysia.

It is my pleasure to present the January 2026 issue of Berita Ortopedik to all members of the Malaysian Orthopaedic Association. In conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, this issue reflects on how musculoskeletal conditions affect not just bones and joints, but our patients’ independence, identity, and dignity — a reality we encounter daily in Malaysian orthopaedic practice.

As we mark the International Day of Education this month, we are reminded that progress in orthopaedics must be matched by strong training, lifelong learning, and compassionate care. Our work should be measured not only by alignment and union, but by how well we help patients return to meaningful and productive lives.
