22/10/2025 🎨 Art Therapy & Gifting Initiative. We continued our heartfelt gifting program for pediatric oncology patients, focusing on creative engagement through artwork.

Today’s activities included lantern-making, doll painting, and crafting vibrant peacock designs. These sessions brought joy and therapeutic value to the children, fostering emotional expression and a sense of accomplishment.

The mobile library proved highly effective today. A significant number of patients and their carers actively borrowed books, highlighting the importance of accessible reading materials. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Asher’s mother for her generous donation of books to our mobile library.

11 October 2025 : CARES proudly supported The Bald & The Beautiful, a student-led initiative dedicated to raising awareness of childhood cancer and empowering communities to stand with children and families affected by the disease.

💛 Their campaign featured advocacy programmes, fundraising efforts, and our signature hair donation drive — a powerful gesture of solidarity with young cancer fighters. As part of their culminating event this October, the team hosted a public forum titled : Beyond the Diagnosis: Understanding Childhood Cancer Together

President Mdm Diana Wong and Advisor Mr. JB Kuang were invited as forum speakers, sharing CARES’ frontline work in advocacy and family support. Their insights offered a vital perspective on the lived realities of childhood cancer and the role of community care. Other speakers included a parent of a child with cancer, who shared a deeply moving personal journey, and a paediatric doctor with extensive experience in childhood oncology.

During the forum, CARES highlighted:
- Our mission to support children with cancer and their families
- The practical and emotional challenges families face beyond hospital walls
- How community involvement and public awareness can transform lives
- The critical gaps NGOs help bridge in care and support
- Ways the public — especially youth — can contribute through volunteering, fundraising, and advocacy
The session concluded with an open Q&A, fostering heartfelt dialogue and deeper understanding.

💇‍♀️ The event closed on a poignant note with a hair donation by our CARES member Mdm Koh Ngat Hoon, whose generous act also helped raise funds for the cause — a beautiful symbol of compassion and hope.

1/10/2025 : In celebration of the Mid Autumn Festival, we organized a special activity by distributing craft lantern-making kits to our oncology patients.

This thoughtful gesture aimed to bring warmth, joy, and a sense of cultural connection to those undergoing treatment. Engaging in the creative process not only offered the patients a welcome distraction from their daily challenges but also fostered a spirit of community and hope during this meaningful festival.
