17/12/2025 : Today marked the final Wednesday session for our CARES volunteer group before we pause for the Christmas and New Year festive season.

The ward was quiet, with only four patients, but we, Hoon, Ruthe & Jessie were still able to bring a little cheer by gifting each of them a Christmas present along with a packet of confectionery. It was a simple gesture, yet it added a touch of warmth to the ward as we wrapped up our final playroom opening for the year.

🐰✨ In the spirit of Christmas giving, CARES also took the opportunity to present 30 Bunny Rabbit Plush Toy Soft Sleeping Pillows in cheerful green and yellow to Dr. Foo Jen Chun for the children at daycare. These cuddly companions are sure to bring warmth, comfort, and big smiles to the little ones this festive season.

🎁 This joyful gesture was made possible through the generous donation of Ms. Kirthana, whose kindness helped spread even more love and festive cheer to children who deserve it most. Her contribution truly added an extra touch of magic to this season of giving.

🎄 10 December 2025 – Christmas CARES Celebration 🎄
In the spirit of the forthcoming Christmas season, CARES organized a joyful event dedicated to bringing smiles and festive cheer to children.

🍗 The children were treated to delicious aroma Texas chicken, mashed potato & paired with a sweet chocolate cookie a delightful combination that filled the day with satisfaction.

🍬 To make the celebration even more special, each child received packets of assorted confectionery goodies along with a handcrafted Santa hat, a thoughtful touch that added sparkle and festive charm to the occasion.

26/11/2025 : This November CARES had joyful treats for Little Fighters at Ward 5PA, 14 brave young patients from Ward 5PA and the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit were showered with love and care through a heartwarming initiative.
🍚 The children were treated to a hearty Chicken Rice meal, a comforting favourite that brought smiles and lifted spirits across the ward.
🍬 To make the day even sweeter, each child received a bagful of confectionery delights along with a surprise present, adding sparkle and excitement to their afternoon.
💖 The thoughtful gesture turned an ordinary day into a celebration of joy, reminding these little fighters that they are cherished and supported every step of the way.

29/10/2025 : Today, CARES had the joy of treating 13 oncology children to a delightful spread of A&W nuggets, curly fries, ice cream and orange juice, each accompanied by a sweet packet of confectionery.

22/10/2025 🎨 Art Therapy & Gifting Initiative. We continued our heartfelt gifting program for pediatric oncology patients, focusing on creative engagement through artwork.

Today’s activities included lantern-making, doll painting, and crafting vibrant peacock designs. These sessions brought joy and therapeutic value to the children, fostering emotional expression and a sense of accomplishment.

The mobile library proved highly effective today. A significant number of patients and their carers actively borrowed books, highlighting the importance of accessible reading materials. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Asher’s mother for her generous donation of books to our mobile library.
