Helicobacter pylori commonly known as
H pylori or stomach bacteria or stomach germ is commonly seen in patients. Nearly 40% to 50% of the world population are infected with this bacteria. Of this , only 75% have symptoms like stomah pain,bloating and other symptoms.
Rest of the 25% have no symptoms.
This germ is usually happen during childhood. This germ is contracted when in contact with an infected person's stool,vomiting,saliva.
Person to person contact like close family setting is most common mode of transmission.
Consuming contaminated food,not washing hands after defecation can spread this germs. Kissing persons with infected saliva also can transmit the infection.
This bacteria is known to cause stomach inflammation(gastritis),
Peptic Ulcer Disease(Stomach and Duodenal Ulcers) and most importantly STOMACH CANCER.

Your Healthcare Professionals can do test to diagnose this germ. If you are found to be infected with this germ,you can be treated with antibiotics and an acid suppressive medication.
