Prince Court Medical Centre is proud to see our Head of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Yap Lok Huei, lead the "Deep Plane Facelift Cadaveric Hands-On Masterclass" at Hospital Kuala Lumpur today, sharing his expertise with fellow surgeons in an advanced surgical training programme.

The masterclass opened with remarks by our CEO, Ms. Tan Sok Kheng, reaffirming Prince Court’s commitment to advancing surgical excellence and clinical education.

Together with esteemed faculty members Dr. Matthew Yeo and Dr. James Mok, participants engaged in cadaveric dissection and in-depth exploration of SMAS and deep plane facelift techniques, strengthening their understanding of the complex anatomical structures beneath the skin that are essential to achieving safe and natural outcomes.

At Prince Court, we believe that excellence in surgery is strengthened when knowledge is shared and the next generation of surgeons continues to learn from the best in the field.

In conjunction with International Women’s Day, Prince Court Medical Centre was honoured to collaborate with the Embassy of the Philippines for a meaningful wellness event centred on women’s health and empowerment.

We were privileged to welcome Her Excellency Maria Angela Ponce, Ambassador of the Philippines, together with Ms. Tan Sok Kheng, Chief Executive Officer of Prince Court Medical Centre, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing health awareness and access for the Filipino community in Malaysia.

The session, titled “Hormonal Health Matters: Understanding Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) and Women’s Wellness,” addressed a condition that affects many women globally yet remains widely misunderstood. Moderated by Dr. Nora Mohammad, Senior Medical Officer, the discussion featured expert perspectives from Dr. Malathi Karupiah, Consultant Endocrinologist, and Dr. Maiza Tusimin, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, who shared insights on hormonal health, early awareness, and the importance of proactive care.

Beyond the dialogue, members of the Filipino community also took proactive steps toward their well-being through basic health screenings conducted during the event.

As Her Excellency Maria Angela Ponce aptly noted, empowering women with knowledge is the first step towards helping them take charge of their health.

When Qalisha Ray experienced an Amniotic Fluid Embolism (AFE) during delivery, she faced one of the rarest and most complex emergencies in obstetrics. Occurring in only 1 to 5 per 100,000 pregnancies, AFE is unpredictable and often life-threatening. Thanks to the rapid decision-making and coordinated response of our on-site team of specialists, Qalisha’s story is one of hope – showing that even the most high-risk cases can be successfully managed here at Prince Court.

Reflecting on her experience and the care she received from Dr. Shilpa Nambiar, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, and our dedicated medical team, Qalisha shared, “I'm forever grateful that I chose Prince Court.” The successful management of such a critical case relies on early recognition and the immediate availability of a multidisciplinary team, including obstetricians, anaesthetists and haematologists.
