In honour of this year's World Mental Health Day theme, the ACBS Malaysia Chapter invites you to our annual Borak Session.
This year, we're hosting an open and reflective discussion on a critical topic: Mental Health in Humanitarian Emergencies. Join our panel as we explore how psychological support can look in times of disaster or crisis. Rather than focusing on diagnoses or PTSD, the discussion will centre on immediate human needs — such as communication, safety, and connection — that become crucial when crises strike.
When disasters strike, the immediate need often isn’t clinical intervention, but connection and communication — ensuring people know their loved ones are safe and that accurate information is shared. In such moments, psychological support can simply mean offering reassurance, stability, and a sense of safety amidst chaos.
The conversation will explore both victim and rescuer perspectives, offering grounded insights on compassion, communication, and resilience in challenging circumstances.
