NiVATS has been performed worldwide years ago by Thoracic Surgeons in suitable cases.
We in Prince Court Medical Center just embarked on this technology only now . Although a bit late to start, but better than not starting at all. Teamwork is always the key.

Thanks to Dr Wan Aizat and our excellent OT Team mates, we performed our First Non Intubated Thoracic Surgery ( NiVATS ) yesterday in Prince Court Medical Centre (Official) for a young patient presented with tension Pneumothorax which was persistent needing surgery. This is a milestone for PCMC in the advancement of Thoracic Surgery .
In PCMC, we move forward as a team to achieve greater heights...

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my good friend Padungkiat Tangpiroontham for proctoring and helping to kick start my first Robotic thoracic surgery case.
Also would like to thank Dr Ghazaime Anaesthetist for a smooth anaesthesia for this patient as well as the entire Nursing Team involved.
Never thought I would venture into Robotic Surgery in this Lifetime but Intuitive and Device Technology with their Da Vinci System made it possible .
Malaysia with the largest number of Da Vinci System with increasing number of Surgeons getting trained in Robotics will surely put Malaysia amongst the
