Many of us do not see the connection between movement development and learning for a growing child. Do you know that every movement a baby learns will open a new neural pathway in their brains? Read my interview with specialist educator, Hilary Craig about this crucial relationship between movement & learning!

In this conversation, movement therapist Amy Tan talks to Hilary Craig, a specialist teacher for people who learn differently, about the connections between movement and learning for babies.

A decade ago, my university mate who then was a surgeon told me that I had wasted a lot of money learning about something ie Rolfing that was completely unreal!

Read all about fascia and that's what I get my hands on in the private sessions.

Fascia is made up of sheets of connective tissue that is found below the skin. These tissues attach, stabilize, impart strength, maintain vessel patency, separate muscles, and enclose different organs. Traditionally, the word fascia was used primarily by surgeons to describe the dissectible tissue s...

If it makes sense to you that every injury or movement pattern can create compensational imprints on your physical body, then Rolfing is the 'ironing' out of these congested connective tissue patterns which may be the cause of your pain.

Rolfing is a technique people who live with chronic pain may not have tried yet to find relief. We cover seven things people with chronic pain should know about Rolfing. GARDENING AS GROUNDING

Get down into the dirt and reconnect with the soil of the earth.

When we strip away the many layers of our lives, we will find that ultimately, it is food that keeps us alive. Besides eating and cooking, another way to connect to the food we eat is through gardening. After all, it is the environment that grows our food.

Placing your hands into the soil is thus a good grounding activity that brings you closer to Earth, both literally and metaphorically. It helps you realise that nature is not just what’s around us, we are not detached from the air, the plants, the animals or the ground we tread on. But rather, every single one of us is a part of nature.

So make time for it, create opportunities to spend time in the garden getting your hands dirty amid the life-giving soil, especially in the late afternoon when the temperature drops. Get to know the plants, prepare the planting beds and sow some seeds. And as you do so, remember that you’re not just pottering around with plants but strengthening a direct link with and a way to be one with nature while nurturing a living skill.
