General recommendations for the use of RTK-Ag testing for confirmatory

1. Test kits sensitivity must be more than 80% and specificity more than 97%.

2. When the health system is overburdened

3. When the turnaround time for RT PCR is more than 48 to 72 hours or if RT-PCR test not available

4. RTK-Ag should be conducted by trained operator and for best results the tests should be performed within the first 5 to 7 days following the onset of symptoms

5. More specific for new cluster/cohort with high positivity rate and when concordance study show PPV, high specificity and high confirmatory with RT PCR
