It’s a wrap! Well done, team! 👏🏻

The IJN CMR Course 2026: Level 1 Accreditation concluded on a meaningful note after three days of comprehensive learning, clinical discussions and practical case-based sessions in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR).

Day 3 focused on the role of CMR in pericardial disease, cardiac masses and tumours, congenital heart disease, aortic disease and valvular assessment, followed by closing remarks on SCMR and EACVI CMR Accreditation and further training pathways.

The programme ended with a certificate presentation ceremony, celebrating the participants’ commitment to advancing their knowledge and skills in cardiac MRI. The course was also complemented by a faculty dinner, providing an opportunity to connect with and express our appreciation to both local and international faculty for their valuable contributions.

Our sincerest appreciation goes to all faculty members, organising committee members, participants, endorsing bodies and education partners for making this course a great success.

Once again, congratulations to the team. Job well done! 👏🏻

CX in Action at IJN 💙

Enhancing customer experience (CX) through simple yet meaningful moments.

A simple idea brought to life — stretching and health promotion activities at our clinics, creating a more engaging and meaningful waiting experience for our patients.

This initiative has been warmly received, even inspiring a few viral reels! Perhaps it is a reflection of how sporting, enthusiastic, and positive IJN patients truly are. 💪

It has also become a golden opportunity to educate our patients on cardiovascular risk reduction while promoting IJN’s mobile app, IJNCare.

Day 2 of the IJN CMR Course 2026 concluded with a strong focus on the clinical and practical applications of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR).

Participants explored the role of CMR in cardiomyopathies, heart failure, MINOCA, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease and arrhythmia, complemented by interactive case reviews and practical discussions.

Led by our international and local faculty, the sessions provided valuable insights into how CMR supports accurate diagnosis, assessment and clinical decision-making in complex cardiac cases.

As we conclude Day 2, we extend our appreciation to all faculty, moderators and participants for their active engagement and continued commitment to advancing cardiac imaging knowledge.

Strengthening Patient Support & Advocacy 💙

A heartfelt engagement today with the RakanIJN volunteer team, who have been faithfully supporting our patients since 1998.

Many of the RakanIJN volunteers are former patients themselves. Having undergone cardiac surgeries and procedures, they truly understand the fears, hopes, and emotions that our patients experience. Their presence in the wards brings comfort, encouragement, and strength to those on their healing journey.

Thank you, Datin Seri Raja Zuraida, Datin Norlia Shukri, and the entire RakanIJN team, for continuing to light up the hearts of our patients through your kindness, support, and selfless service. ✨

Our Story

Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), Malaysia’s premier heart specialist centre, is the perfect embodiment of a homegrown success story that is driven by committed, caring and concerned IJNers who are all on the same page in realising the Institute’s vision as a global centre of excellence in cardiovascular and thoracic care. Our roots can be traced back to 1992 when the Government took affirmative action to establish a dedicated Heart Institute, given the steep rise in heart-related cases among Malaysians of all ages - an important issue that was fast becoming a matter of national concern. It was the right decision made then, and to this day still is, as evidenced by the care and treatment provided by IJN to millions of the Institute’s patients.

Since 1992, IJN has kept pace in catering for the healthcare needs of a growing population with new and expanded facilities that complement the Institute’s existing facilities, complete with comprehensive amenities. Our farsightedness and customer-centric approach bear testament to our passion and dedication in ensuring that the community’s healthcare needs are met, not just for today but for decades to come.

We are well positioned to further grow and enhance its role as a centre of excellence in the field of cardiovascular and thoracic care

Since inception, IJN hit the ground running, and has not looked back since in pioneering several firsts in cardiovascular and thoracic healthcare and training programmes. These innovative breakthroughs have helped catapult us to the top in the field of cardiology as a Centre of Excellence, both in the ASEAN region and the world. Such international acclaim and stature are a testament of IJN’s unwavering commitment to providing world-class heart healthcare services to both Malaysian and international patients.
