Balik kampung to see mak and ayah this Raya? ❤️

Between the excitement of the journey home and all the Raya preparations, one thing often gets overlooked… medications.

If you are a heart patient or travelling with one, a little extra attention can make a big difference. Long hours on the road, heat and missed doses can quietly put health at risk.

Before you travel, take a moment to check:

âś…Do you have enough medication for the whole visit
âś… Are the medications stored properly and kept cool
âś… Are they easy to access during the journey

It may seem small but these are the things that help keep Raya moments worry-free. This Raya, come home with peace of mind knowing you have taken care of what truly matters ❤️

As the last days of Ramadan approach, many of us are juggling work, Raya preparations and extra nights of ibadah while hoping to catch the blessings of Lailatul Qadar. It is no surprise that fatigue starts to creep in.

A short power nap can help you recharge without affecting your night-time rest. Just 15–30 minutes after Zohor may be enough to reset your mind, improve focus and support your heart health during fasting.

This small pause can help you stay energised for what matters most in these final days: preparing for Hari Raya, spending time with loved ones and making the most of the blessed nights of Ramadan.

After Tarawih prayers, many look forward to moreh as a time to refuel and reconnect with friends and family.

While enjoying these late-night bites, remember that moreh is meant to be light. Choosing balanced snacks, staying hydrated and keeping portions moderate can help you stay energised for the next day of fasting.

As we enter the final stretch of Ramadan, enjoy your moreh moments but try not to overindulge. A little moderation goes a long way in helping you stay healthy through the remaining days of the month.

Kidney disease does not always announce itself. It often progresses quietly, without pain or obvious warning signs.

In Malaysia, chronic kidney disease is on the rise. Prevalence increased from 9.07% in 2011 to 15.48% in 2018 and today, more than 50,000 Malaysians rely on dialysis and this number could double to over 106,000 by 2040 if early intervention is delayed.

If you are living with diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease or have a family history of kidney problems, your risk may be higher than you think. This World Kidney Day, let’s start the conversation about your kidney health.

Datuk Dr. Ghazali Ahmad, Consultant Nephrologist at IJN provides specialised care focused on early detection, prevention and long term kidney management.

Do not wait for symptoms. Early screening can make all the difference.

Did you know that solar energy is already part of IJN’s daily operations?

With solar panels installed across half or more of our building rooftops, IJN uses less electricity from the main grid. On average, solar generation contributes approximately 32,000 kWh per day, accounting for about 2.2% of IJN’s total daily electricity consumption.

These efforts are part of IJN’s broader commitment to responsible and sustainable healthcare, and were recognised at the National Energy Awards 2024, where IJN received the Merit Award for Energy Efficient Building (Retrofitted Building).

Sustainability in healthcare means making thoughtful, practical choices while continuing to deliver safe and reliable patient care every day, in line with our ESG commitments.

As we approach the final days of Ramadan, many Muslims naturally increase their ibadah, spending more time in prayers and religious gatherings.

With Hari Raya just around the corner, movement and social interactions also tend to increase as families begin preparing to celebrate together.

During this busy and meaningful period, it is important to remain mindful of our health and take simple precautions to protect ourselves and those around us.

Practising good hygiene, washing hands regularly and wearing a mask if you are unwell can help reduce the spread of illnesses, including tuberculosis (TB).

Let us continue looking out for one another and stay mindful of our health, so we can welcome Syawal safely with our loved ones.

Spreading Care Through Community: CSR Visit to Two Orphanage Homes

Yesterday, we had the privilege of carrying out a CSR initiative involving repair, maintenance, and donation activities at two orphanage homes:

🏠 Rumah Kebajikan & Anak Yatim Darul Najjah (An Najjah)
🏠 Rumah Anak Yatim Syifa

Various repair and maintenance works were completed to improve the living environment for the children and caretakers, including repairs to roofing, ceilings, plumbing, piping, and repainting works. Essential items such as bedsheets, blankets, curtains, and painting supplies were also provided.

Baju Raya were also contributed to bring joy and festive spirit to the children. This initiative was further strengthened by personal donations from our CEO and Deputy CEO.

In collaboration with Adabi, we also organised a Bubur Lambuk cooking program at Rumah Kebajikan & Anak Yatim Darul Najjah, joined by representatives from Rumah Anak Yatim Syifa. Together, we distributed Bubur Lambuk to the surrounding IJN community.

✨ A heartfelt thank you to all volunteers, partners, and contributors who made this initiative possible.

The final stretch of Ramadhan is here. 🌙 With Syawal just around the corner, many of us are pushing harder in our ibadah, staying up later for prayers, waking early for sahur, while also preparing for Raya.

Amid the busy days and late nights, it’s just as important to take care of your health.

Simple habits can help you stay energised through these final days:
• Practise safe food preparation
• Stay active and get enough rest
• Eat balanced meals and hydrate well
• Avoid smoking and sugary or junk foods

Let’s finish Ramadan strong and welcome Syawal feeling your best.

Our Story

Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), Malaysia’s premier heart specialist centre, is the perfect embodiment of a homegrown success story that is driven by committed, caring and concerned IJNers who are all on the same page in realising the Institute’s vision as a global centre of excellence in cardiovascular and thoracic care. Our roots can be traced back to 1992 when the Government took affirmative action to establish a dedicated Heart Institute, given the steep rise in heart-related cases among Malaysians of all ages - an important issue that was fast becoming a matter of national concern. It was the right decision made then, and to this day still is, as evidenced by the care and treatment provided by IJN to millions of the Institute’s patients.

Since 1992, IJN has kept pace in catering for the healthcare needs of a growing population with new and expanded facilities that complement the Institute’s existing facilities, complete with comprehensive amenities. Our farsightedness and customer-centric approach bear testament to our passion and dedication in ensuring that the community’s healthcare needs are met, not just for today but for decades to come.

We are well positioned to further grow and enhance its role as a centre of excellence in the field of cardiovascular and thoracic care

Since inception, IJN hit the ground running, and has not looked back since in pioneering several firsts in cardiovascular and thoracic healthcare and training programmes. These innovative breakthroughs have helped catapult us to the top in the field of cardiology as a Centre of Excellence, both in the ASEAN region and the world. Such international acclaim and stature are a testament of IJN’s unwavering commitment to providing world-class heart healthcare services to both Malaysian and international patients.
