In a previous post, we tackled common myths around conflict in a relationship. Now, we're looking at patterns that can quietly damage connection over time.

Psychologist John Gottman identified four patterns of communication that predict a relationship breakdown and named them "The Four Horsemen of Conflict."

These behaviours usually show up when we feel hurt, overwhelmed, or unheard. The conflict itself isn't the problem. It is the pattern we fall into when we're feeling unsafe.

Each horseman has a healthier antidote, and the sooner we recognize our harmful patterns, the sooner we can aim to mend our relationships.
