Women in Microwaves (WiM) Session Report

The Women in Microwaves (WiM) Panel Session was successfully gathered women professionals from academia and industry to share their experiences, leadership perspectives, and personal journeys in the RF and microwave field. The event was joint organised by IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Malaysia, IEEE AP/MTT/EMC Joint Chapter in conjunction with RFM 2025.
The session featured four speakers:
Dr. Rohani Bakar shared insights on her transition from Japan to Malaysia, highlighting how international mobility influenced her career development.
Dr. Khairul Nisak Md Hasan discussed her active involvement in Women in Engineering (WIE) and emphasized advocacy, representation, and the importance of supporting women through professional networks.
Ir. Ts. S Juhaida Yusof Reem spoke on the challenges and strengths of women working in industry, underscoring the role of resilience in navigating career advancement.
Prof. Ir. Dr. Fauziahanim Che Seman presented on leadership in empowering women and young academics, focusing on how leadership roles can create meaningful impact and open pathways for the next generation, especially women in STEM and early-career researchers.
The session provided a meaningful platform for discussion on empowerment, visibility, and future opportunities for women in microwaves. Participation from both physical and virtual attendees contributed to an engaging exchange of experiences and ideas.
