直接激活肌梭和高尔基腱器官,增强本体感觉敏感度;
引发反射性肌肉收缩,帮助增强肌肉力量并改善控制能力;
以及 5 项交叉 RCT(109 名参与者)。
✅ “Timed Up and Go (TUG)”
🌟 Whole Body Vibration (WBV)|Another Possibility for Children with Cerebral Palsy 🌟
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is one of the most common neuro-motor disorders among children,
affecting about 2 out of every 1,000 newborns worldwide.
Among them, nearly 80% are diagnosed with spastic type CP, and about 60% of these children are able to walk independently.
However, challenges in movement control, posture, and balance are common,
while muscle stiffness and spasticity further limit their mobility.
Traditionally, physiotherapy focuses on gait training, coordination exercises, stretching, and joint mobilization
to help children improve their functional performance.
In recent years, however, a technology known as Whole Body Vibration (WBV)
has shown growing potential in the rehabilitation of children with CP.
💡 What is WBV?
The child stands on a vibration platform that generates rhythmic, mechanical vibrations.
In just a few minutes, these vibrations travel through the body,
creating continuous yet gentle stimulation to the muscles.
This stimulation can:
Directly activate muscle spindles and Golgi tendon organs, enhancing proprioceptive sensitivity.
Trigger reflexive muscle contractions, which help strengthen muscles and improve control.
Reduce spasticity by activating neural pathways similar to descending motor tracts that regulate spinal reflexes.
📊 What does research say?
According to a systematic review and meta-analysis published on April 11, 2025,
after screening 241 studies, researchers included 18 parallel RCTs (620 participants)
and 5 crossover RCTs (109 participants).
The findings showed that WBV combined with conventional physiotherapy
led to significant improvements compared to physiotherapy alone, including:
✅ Walking speed
✅ Timed Up and Go (TUG) performance
✅ Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) total scores
✅ Knee extensor strength
✅ Postural stability
✨ WBV is not just a technological intervention — it’s an extension of hope.
For many children with cerebral palsy, a few minutes of vibration can stimulate new connections
between their nerves and muscles, helping them move with greater control, confidence, and joy. 💪💙
