🧩 The Talent Puzzle in Hiring
One of the hardest things about hiring isn’t sourcing talent — it’s seeing the full picture.
A good hire is never just about skills.
Yes, ability matters. Training and coaching matter too.
But so do motivation, ambition, and the willingness to actually use that ability.
Then comes the human side:
Fit with the organization
Fit with the team
Sometimes, fit with a specific manager
And always, respect for diversity of thought — because that’s what drives better long-term results
With so many moving parts, fully solving the “talent puzzle” may be impossible. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try.
đź’ˇ Why is it Important?
When using assessments or pre-selection tools, be clear on what part of the puzzle you’re testing.
That clarity helps you design the rest of the selection process to intentionally explore what wasn’t measured.
Great hiring isn’t about finding perfection — it’s about making thoughtful, informed trade-offs.
