We are a group of mothers who are HypnoBirthing® Practitioners, Breastfeeding Peer Counsellors, Babywearing Educators and Post Natal Care Providers. We know firsthand how tough it is being new parents-to-be and bombarded with many conflicting information and advice from families, friends and the Internet. That was the reason we created Borneo Bellies, Birth & Babies so that we can support families in their parenthood journey.
We aim to be a one-stop centre to everything related to pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and beyond.

My Story
Cikgu Chris is a mother of two, a special ed teacher and the first certified HypnoBirthing® practitioner in East Malaysia. Her journey into the gentle birth and breastfeeding advocacy scene began in 2012, after the birth of her eldest daughter. While her first birth was a ‘standard’ vaginal birth, her second birth was an active, upright labor and her second daughter was born without pushing.
Being the grand daughter of the village midwife, she often listened to the birth stories told by her grandmother. This laid the foundation in her psyche that birth is normal and natural. Experiencing for herself the joy and the beauty of HypnoBirthing®, Cikgu Chris now wants to share the knowledge of HypnoBirthing® and gentle birth with all mothers. She has since helped many families embrace the belief that birth is a beautiful and enjoyable experience.
My Philosophy
Birth is a natural, physiological event. When a mother is empowered with the knowledge and trusts her ability to birth, supported by a birth companion who provides the tender, loving caregiving and a birth team that understands and supports her aim for a natural birth, she will achieve the positive and joyous birth that is rightfully hers.
Whether it’s a fast & furious birth or a marathon labor, it’s the journey that matters. It’s when mothers and fathers feel empowered and confident, that they feel like they truly owned their birth, then I know I have done my job.

“I reach the hospital at 9am and I gave birth at 10am. Natural birth and no episiotomy. My husband told me my leg muscle is so tightening, he said relax, then I go n visualize the flower, and told myself only relax , the baby can come out faster. My husband said he saw how my opening really open like a flower after I relax, and the baby come out quite fast. My husband told me the HypnoBirthing® class really help me lots compared with my first birth.”
