2026 Visit to The Sarawak Cheshire Home ❤️

On 18 April, the visit to Cheshire Home was successfully carried out according to plan, bringing together members from the Malaysian Red Crescent Cadet Unit 193 (Lodge International School) and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (St. Joseph Conference, Kuching).

A total of 12 cadets, accompanied by two teachers Mr Leslie and Mr Daryl, took part in this meaningful outreach. SSVP was represented by Ms Julia and other two members.

We were warmly received by Sister Felis, who provided a briefing and guided us through a short orientation of the Home’s operations and facilities. The visit was truly an eye-opening experience, especially for our young cadets, as they engaged directly with residents who are mentally and physically challenged, learning lessons far beyond the classroom.

One of the most memorable parts of the visit was the interaction sessions. During the drawing session, cadets stood side by side with the residents, guiding and encouraging them. What started as a simple activity quickly turned into moments of genuine connection - smiles, laughter, and even friendly exchanges over colours and ideas. Many were pleasantly surprised by the residents’ creativity and ability to express themselves through art despite their limitations. It was not just about drawing, but about sharing time, patience, and companionship.

Equally heartwarming was the singing session, where another group of cadets bonded with the residents through music. The room was filled with joy as familiar tunes were sung together, such as Poco Poco and 月亮代表我的心, creating a lively and uplifting atmosphere. Our cadets thoroughly enjoyed letting loose, clapping along, and singing side by side with the residents.

We also presented our donation in kind including fresh chicken, groceries, medical supplies, and daily necessities, a small contribution made with big hearts.

This visit created sweet and lasting memories for both the residents and our participants. We hope this experience will leave our young cadets a deep and lasting impact as they move forward in life, carrying with them compassion, empathy, and a spirit of service.

On 8 April 2025, four certified first-aiders from our unit conducted an hour first-aid workshop for members of the International Award Club.

The session aimed to equip participants with some essential first-aid knowledge for handling emergencies; and, it was heartening to see their enthusiasm and active participation throughout. Guided by our experienced first-aiders, participants learned practical skills such as wound dressing, CPR, managing heat stroke and sunburn, as well as proper casualty handling.

A big thank you to our dedicated first-aiders, led by team leaders Sharon Ling and Emelie Lopez, for going the extra mile to make this session possible. Their commitment to sharing life-saving knowledge truly reflects the spirit of service upheld by the Malaysian Red Crescent Society.

🚑 Ambulance Educational Session 🚑

On 31 March 2026, the Red Crescent Cadet Unit #193 (RCCU193) of Lodge International School successfully conducted an enriching Ambulance Educational Session at the school, which was made possible with the invaluable support of the Stampin Branch.

Our cadets were truly excited and fully engaged throughout the hands-on session. A highlight for many was learning how to transport casualties using a stretcher trolley into the ambulance and safely offload them, an experience that brought their first-aid knowledge to life. Beyond that, cadets enthusiastically explored different features of the ambulance, including experimenting with the various siren tones and using the in-vehicle loudspeaker system, making the session both educational and fun.

The entire practical session was conducted smoothly and professionally under the guidance of our senior officers from the Stampin Branch office, Mr Waison and Ms Geraldine, with the assistance of Ms Eleyana. Their expertise and dedication ensured that cadets not only enjoyed the session but also gained meaningful insights into ambulance operations and emergency response procedures.

Before concluding the session at 5pm, two cadet representatives, Celeste and Casmir, were invited to share their reflections. Their sharing highlighted how impactful and inspiring the session was for all participants.

A token of appreciation was presented to Mr Waison, Ms Geraldine, and Ms Eleyana by Teacher Mr Leslie, Teacher Mr Daryl, and Casmir (Vice President of the unit) respectively.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Stampin Branch for their continued commitment in nurturing our cadets. This session has undoubtedly strengthened their confidence, skills, and readiness to serve in real-life emergency situations.
