6% Sales and Service Tax (SST).

Since July 2025, some elderly care facilities must charge SST on top of their monthly fees. That's an extra RM210 every month on a RM3,500 bill. RM2,520 every year. RM12,600 over five years.

But Ministry of Health-licensed nursing homes? Zero SST for Malaysian families. Completely exempt.

Most families comparing prices have no idea this tax difference even exists.
