When two teeth are missing, a cantilever implant bridge is a good option. The space can be restored with natural looking teeth without the extra cost of a second implant. Here, an Osstem SS 4.1x8mm implant was placed, and restored at 3 months with a nicely fabricated bridge.

When restoring an implant, we must consider how it will function at least five to ten years down the line. Will the patient be able to maintain the area adequately, and what can we do to improve the long-term survival of the restoration?
This patient had two implants placed in the lower right region; however, the amount of soft tissue around the implants was minimal. A free gingival graft was therefore performed. After three months of healing, two crowns were fitted.
The increased thickness of keratinised tissue around the implants provides a better seal against bacterial infiltration and makes it easier for the patient to clean the area, ultimately supporting the longevity of the restoration. Osstem Malaysia
