Why Complete Rest May Not Be the Best for Recovery
Have you ever been told to stop moving completely after an injury? A decade ago, that was standard advice. While rest is an important part of recovery, total inactivity can create problems like:
• Weakened muscles: When muscles aren’t used, they lose strength, making recovery harder.
• Joint stiffness: Lack of movement can lead to reduced flexibility and mobility.
• Slower recovery: Inactivity reduces blood flow, which can slow tissue repair and healing.
