Our story
Dr Ho Shu Fen is a board certified oculoplastic surgeon. After getting full scholarship to study medicine in University of Melbourne, she decided to specialise in Ophthalmology. She worked under tutelage of many world renown eye surgeon in United Kingdom. After getting FRCOphth (London) and Certificate of Completion of Training in UK, she decided to subspecialise in Oculoplastics. She had her fellowship in world renown Moorfields Eye Centre in London. Being a keen learner, she also did observership in Korea Samsung Medical Centre with Prof Kim Yoon Duck and Prof Woo, Assoc Prof Theda Kontis in Baltimore and Prof Goldberg in UCLA. She also update herself regularly by attending various international conferences yearly. Since returning to Malaysia, she has been familiarising herself with Malaysians’ pathology and she is able to combine both Western and Eastern technique to treat her patients.
She can perform a wide range of oculoplastic surgeries including ptosis repair, eyelid reconstruction, DCR, eyelid and orbital decompression for thyroid eye disease, facial nerve palsy. She can also perform Asian Blepharoplasty (double eyelid surgery) and eye bags removal surgery together with non invasive management such as botulinum toxin (for wrinkle treatment and blepharospasm/hemifacial spasm), filler injection and autologous fat grafting. She is also a competent cataract surgeon who can perform complex cataract surgery with a wide variety of premium intraocular lens implant and squint surgery.
She adopted holistic management to her patients as she believe ‘eye is a window to the soul’ and eye health is reflection of general health. She currently practice in Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh, Malaysia.
