Percutaneous microwave ablation of adenomyosis, performed under laparoscopic guidance, helps shrink the uterus by about 50–60%. This minimally invasive procedure targets and treats adenomyosis, significantly reduces menstrual pain, and may improve the chances of pregnancy.

Percutaneous means through the skin.

In medicine, a percutaneous procedure is done without major surgery, usually by:
• inserting a small needle or probe through the skin,
• using imaging guidance like ultrasound or laparoscopy,
• to reach the target organ or tissue.

So percutaneous microwave ablation means a treatment where a thin probe is inserted through the skin to heat and shrink adenomyosis tissue.

Qualification: Diploma Science (ITM), Institute Technology Mara, 1986 Medical Degree in Medicine (M.D), University Kebangasan Malaysia, 1991 Master Degree of Medical in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (M.Med O&G), University Kebangsaan Malaysia, 2001 Certificate in Aesthetic Medicine, America Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, 2011 Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine, America Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, 2011 Board Certification in Aesthetic Medicine, America Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, 2012 Dr Sharifah is affiliated to and a member of many well-known medical organizations as the followings: 1.
