Self-harm is a deeply personal and often misunderstood issue that affects people of all ages and backgrounds. Many believe it’s simply a cry for attention, but in truth, it’s usually a coping mechanism — a way for someone to manage intense emotional pain, numbness, or a sense of loss of control, and find temporary relief from feelings that seem unbearable.
