Our hospital begun operations in June 2024 but was officially launched by DYMM Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan today the 26th of November 2025. After a busy clinic and scopes in the morning, I participated in a a truly enjoyable interactive scientific session in the afternoon with my gastroenterologist colleagues organized by Zuelig Pharma. Later on the evening, I rushed over for the grand launch of K-cab in Malaysia by Pharmaniaga.

I am deeply honoured and humbled to have been conferred a title by His Royal Highness, the Sultan of Perak, on the auspicious occasion of his 69th birthday. The investiture ceremony, rich in royal protocol and cultural heritage, was a profound and memorable experience — one that I will forever treasure with great respect and gratitude.

This honour not only serves as a personal milestone but also reinforces my commitment to continue contributing meaningfully to the field of healthcare and to the nation. To be recognised in such an esteemed and traditional setting is truly a once-in-a-lifetime privilege and a reminder of the values of service, integrity, and dedication.

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all who have journeyed with me — my wife, family, colleagues, mentors, and community — for their unwavering support and encouragement.

Saya berasa amat berbesar hati dan rendah diri kerana telah dianugerahkan gelaran kebesaran oleh Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Perak, bersempena sambutan ulang tahun keputeraan Baginda yang ke-69. Istiadat penganugerahan tersebut, yang penuh dengan adat istana dan warisan budaya, merupakan pengalaman yang begitu bermakna dan mendalam — suatu detik yang akan saya kenang dengan penuh rasa hormat dan kesyukuran.

Penganugerahan ini bukan sahaja merupakan pencapaian peribadi, malah memperkukuh komitmen saya untuk terus menyumbang secara bermakna dalam bidang kesihatan dan kepada negara. Pengiktirafan dalam suasana penuh adat dan kehormatan ini benar-benar merupakan suatu penghormatan yang hanya berlaku sekali dalam seumur hidup, serta menjadi peringatan tentang nilai-nilai khidmat, integriti, dan dedikasi.

🚀 Big day at PICASO Hospital yesterday as we kicked off PROMISE 2025 (PICASO ROBOTIC and MIS exchange)
💬 Talks, debates & live surgery demos all in one place.

🤖 We successfully performed:
✔️ Robotic anterior resection
✔️ Robotic inguinal hernia surgery

An honour to host my good friends & world-class robotic surgeons Prof Kim and James Ngu 🙌

Interestingly it was held in a BMW and Rolls Royce showroom 😂

Last week I had an unforgettable visit to the N.N. Blokhin Cancer Center in Moscow — the largest cancer hospital in Russia.

Thanks to my friend Dr. Sergey Gordev from the Russian Colorectal Cancer Society, I toured the Department of Colorectal Surgery, from clinics to wards to operating theatres. The scale of their work and commitment of the teams were truly inspiring.

A special highlight: holding the world’s first anastomotic circular stapler — a landmark in surgical history — during my stop at the hospital’s museum. I also signed the guestbook and was even interviewed by Russian state TV!

Grateful for this opportunity to connect, learn, and share experiences at such a world-renowned institution.

Had a wonderful time with Prof. Gaello (Italy) and Prof. Riol (Spain) — two outstanding colleagues and great company!

Our conversations ranged from clinical updates on the management of hemorrhoidal disease to the latest studies highlighting the importance of conservative management. With Prof. Riol’s vascular perspective adding to Prof. Gaello’s surgical insights, it was truly an enriching exchange of ideas.

Grateful for these international friendships that blend science, collaboration, and fun in equal measure! 🌍
