(19/11/25) The most awaited outing to Suria Sabah Shopping Mall for NASAM Sabah strokees accompanied by therapist, staff and volunteers. Early Christmas shopping for some and we ended the day after having late lunch.

20th Nov'25: NASAM PERAK visited 20 20dB Hearing .. 😍😇
Thank you so much to Ms. Carmen & the team for having us in their centre. 20dB Hearing Ipoh also conducted Ear Screening & Hearing Assessment for our NASAM PERAK Stroke Champions. 🤩

💯With proper hearing can prevent from poor cognitive function & dementia.
💯Hearing screening is crucial for stroke patients because post-stroke hearing loss is common and can significantly impair communication, hinder rehabilitation, and negatively impact a patient's quality of life.
💯Identifying hearing issues early allows for timely intervention, which can
- improve rehabilitation outcomes
- aid in preventing falls
- help avoid social isolation

JEJAK KANSER
In Malaysia, the top 3 most common cancers are Breast, Colorectal & Lung cancer, all of which can be significantly reduced through healthy lifestyle choices and early screening.

On 15th November 2025, NASAM successfully hosted “Jejak Kanser”, featuring an impactful health screening followed by an informative Cancer & Shingles Awareness Talk delivered by Dr. Kruthika Jaisankar, a dedicated volunteer from the National Cancer Society Malaysia.

The screening covered BMI, blood pressure, Hepatitis B & C testing, iFOBT, Smokerlyzer assessment and breast examinations.

Participants include stroke survivors, caregivers, family members and community members, came together for a meaningful morning focused on cancer prevention, early detection and overall health improvement.

From 4 to over 30. ✨
This morning, the NASAM family filled Taman Merdeka with hope and determination. It's hard to believe that back in 2023, our post-pandemic group therapy sessions had just 4 brave stroke survivors.
Look at us now! This incredible growth is a powerful testament to the importance of community rehabilitation. It’s more than just physical exercise; it’s a lifeline of shared understanding, mutual support, and collective strength.

Seeing our survivors and dedicated carers walk, talk, and laugh together is a beautiful reminder that no one should walk the road to recovery alone. Here’s to building back, together! 💙

NASAM, in collaboration with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), is organising a FREE Cancer & Shingles Awareness Talk at NASAM Petaling Jaya on Saturday, 15th November 2025, from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Participants can also enjoy FREE cancer and health screenings and for those aged 35 and above, blood tests will be available for diabetes, cholesterol and more.
