Why did the patient’s mandibular ridge become flat?!!

Over the past few years, the patient wore a super-heavy cobalt-chrome denture. The excessive load was placed on the alveolar ridge, based on the old belief that heavier dentures provide better stability, which is ❌ wrong.

We realized how incorrect this concept was, and through BPS / SEMCD training, we developed a clearer understanding of the correct clinical approach.

This case features a Titanium anterior–posterior palatal strap combined with an open mid-palatal design⭕️

The goal was to achieve optimal rigidity with minimal thickness, while reducing palatal coverage to improve comfort🍽️and speech adaptation.🗣️

A CI bar was incorporated to reinforce the anterior segment and enhance overall framework stability .💪
