World AIDS Day 2025 @ UCSI Hospital | “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response”
Today, on World AIDS Day, UCSI Hospital stands united with the global community to reaffirm our commitment to ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.
WHO theme this year, “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response” reminds us that despite decades of progress, challenges such as stigma, inequality, and disruptions in healthcare services continue to threaten hard-won gains.
In Malaysia, we have made significant strides in HIV prevention and treatment. Yet, barriers remain and particularly for key populations, women, and marginalized communities.
To truly transform the AIDS response, we must act boldly and inclusively.
Our Call to Action
1. Ensure Equal Access to Care
Every individual deserves stigma-free, confidential, and affordable HIV services. UCSI Hospital is committed to integrating HIV testing, treatment, and counseling into routine care.
2. Promote Awareness and End Stigma
Stigma remains one of the greatest barriers to HIV prevention and treatment. We call on all healthcare personnel to replace fear with empathy and judgment with understanding. Health is a human right.
3. Support Women and Girls
Gender inequality fuels vulnerability to HIV. We pledge to advocate for women’s health rights and ensure that prevention and treatment services are inclusive and safe.
4. Long Term Impact for Future Generations
Embedding HIV prevention is our priority at UCSI Hospital. It ensures intergenerational prevention and focused interventions to protect vulnerable populations including adolescents, young mothers and migrants.
Ending AIDS requires more than medicine as it requires compassion, partnership, and sustained commitment. UCSI Hospital invites all to join us in this mission. Together, we can end AIDS & overcome disruption and transform the AIDS response.
AIDS is not over, and neither is our fight. Because at UCSI Hospital, your health comes first!
