Constipated children get sick more easily, and are more likely to develop these health problems:
1. Fever
Constipated kids often have repeated fevers because toxins stay inside the body and create “heat.”
2. Poor Appetite
Long-term constipation upsets the stomach and intestines. Kids may feel bloated and refuse to eat.
3. Irritability & Poor Sleep
When stool doesn’t come out, the body can’t release extra heat. Children may feel restless and sleep badly at night.
4. Poor Growth
Kids grow very fast. But if constipation reduces nutrient absorption, their height and growth may be affected.
5. Low Immunity & Frequent Illness
Constipation can make children eat less, get sick often, and with wrong medications (like overusing antibiotics), immunity becomes weaker — creating a bad cycle.
6. Stomach Pain
Blocked intestines can cause cramps and stomach aches. In serious cases, it may even lead to appendicitis.
7. Bedwetting
Constipation makes the re**um swollen, pressing on the bladder. This causes frequent urination in the day and bedwetting at night.
8. Repeated Tonsillitis
In Chinese medicine, the lung and large intestine are connected. If stool isn’t cleared, heat moves to the lungs, causing repeated tonsil infections.
9. Headaches, Dizziness & Poor Memory
Toxins from stool (like methane, ammonia) can enter the brain, leading to headaches, poor memory, and weaker learning ability.
10. Malnutrition
If children don’t eat well because of bloating and weak digestion, they can’t absorb enough nutrition, which slows both body and brain development.
11. Frequent Colds
Children with constipation often have too much internal heat, making them sensitive to weather changes — they catch colds easily.
12. Repeated Cough
When constipation is treated, the large intestine clears, and the lungs can work better. That’s why coughs often improve when constipation is solved.
