Sabah AIDS Awareness Group Association - SAGA Sabah AIDS Awareness Group is an NGO from Sabah, Malaysia. It was founded by Dr. Zaiton Binti Yahaya, a family medicine consultant at Klinik Kesihatan Sandakan.

Our mission is to promote healthy lifestyle, nurture volunteerism among youth, and improve access to HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment services for all. Sabah AIDS Awareness Group Association (SAGA), formerly Sandakan AIDS Support Group Association (Registry of Societies Malaysia registration no. PPM-001-12-12092008), was established in 2008 as the non-governmental organisation leading the community-based HIV/AIDS response in Sabah in partnership with the Ministry of Health Malaysia and Malaysian AIDS Council. SAGA provides health services related to HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections to people living with HIV and key affected populations in Sandakan. In response to the rise in sexual transmission of HIV, it has begun to expand its scope of services to cover other vulnerable populations such as women, youths and adolescents. MISSION

To create a society free from the impact of HIV/AIDS by improving public awareness, health promotion and behaviour change in Sabah. SAGA focuses on the disease prevention aspect of HIV/AIDS control and upholds equality for all, regardless of ethnicity, faith, socioeconomic status and gender, in the access to and delivery of its services. OBJECTIVES

To promote healthy lifestyle in the local community
To nurture the spirit of volunteerism and increased public involvements in community works. To serve as a platform for key population to access HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment services
To provide information and counselling on HIV/AIDS and related issues to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. To reach out to young people and their families with important information about HIV/AIDS and sexual reproductive health, particularly to adolescent and vulnerable youth.

We are pleased to introduce you to the latest EXCO lineup that was elected into office by Council Members during the Annual General Meeting, held on the 17th of August 2024 in Kuala Lumpur.

MAC has recently revised its constitution to enhance governance and align its strategies with sustainable practices. A significant outcome of this change is the introduction of three independent positions on the Executive Committee (EXCO), now occupied by distinguished individuals from the private sector and professional bodies. These new members are expected to infuse fresh ideas and perspectives into MAC’s ongoing efforts.

MAC’s Executive Committee for 2024-2027 is as follows:

• President: Assoc Prof Dr. Raja Iskandar Shah Raja Azwa (PT Foundation)
• Vice President: Dr. Nur Afiqah Mohd Salleh (Persatuan Insaf Murni Malaysia)
• Honorary Secretary: Dr. Zaiton binti Yahaya (Sabah AIDS Awareness Group Association - SAGA)
• Asst. Honorary Secretary: Dr. Yuwana Podin (Sarawak AIDS Concern Society)
• Honorary Treasurer: Ken Woo Kin Fai (KLASS - Kuala Lumpur AIDS Support Services Society)

Thank you Yayasan Sime Darby . Fast, swift and with determination. Bantuan kilat in form of vouchers for those in need in kg Forest where their houses were destroyed by the high tide. They were made homeless ard midnight and the next morning every possession gone. They were provided with temporary shelter at SK Sh Anib 2 for 5 days. And what happen after that.
