这不是 RSV 疫苗！！！

最近关于 RSV（呼吸道合胞病毒）预防的相关问题引起了不少混淆，许多家长致电询问儿童是否需要接种 RSV 疫苗。

特此说明，市场上的Beyfortus（nirsevimab-alip）抗体是用于预防由呼吸道合胞病毒（RSV）引起的严重下呼吸道疾病。

它是一种长效单克隆抗体，而不是疫苗，可提供即时的被动免疫来对抗 RSV 感染。其保护效力可持续约 6 个月，之后抗体会逐渐从孩子体内消失。

目前适用于所有 2 岁以下儿童，尤其是患有先天性心脏病和肺部疾病的儿童、早产儿，以及免疫功能低下的儿童更为重要。

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Part 1

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common viral infection in Malaysia nowadays causes infections of the lungs and respiratory tract. It can cause disease in both children and adults.

RSV can cause severe infection in some people, including babies 12 months and younger (infants), especially premature infants, older adults, people with heart and lung disease, or anyone with a weak immune system (immunocompromised).

Prevention and Treatment of Monkey pox ( now called Mpox)

Good news for those in Malaysia that was born before 1980 as the smallpox vaccine that was given to all before 1980 confers some immunity against Mpox. So, all the younger population below 40 had higher risk as smallpox vaccine are no longer given nowadays.

As for treatment, there is no specific antiviral available and treatment is mainly symptomatic relief for fever and skin care.
