Reflecting on an inspiring and impactful event earlier this month, EYEGP is proud to have been part of the successful symposium organised by Malaysian Medical Association Negeri Sembilan.

The event brought together a strong network of healthcare professionals, united by a common goal - strengthening primary care and improving patient outcomes. It was a well executed platform that fostered meaningful discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaboration across multiple disciplines. We commend MMA Negeri Sembilan for their continued commitment to organising initiatives that truly benefit the medical community and, ultimately, the public.

EYEGP was honoured to contribute by showcasing our ophthalmology based primary eye care solutions, aimed at empowering frontliners with accessible and practical tools to enhance early detection and management of eye conditions.

We were especially privileged to receive visits from distinguished leaders including YAB Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Aminuddin bin Harun, Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan, YB Dato Dr Rajasekaran Gunnasekaran ADUN Sri Tanjung and Dr Zuraida Bt Mohamed, Director of JKN Negeri Sembilan. Their recognition and encouragement further reinforce the importance of strengthening primary care capabilities, particularly in ophthalmology, as part of a broader healthcare ecosystem.

ASSUNTA GP SYMPOSIUM 2026 – Strengthening Primary Care in Ophthalmology

On 11th January 2026, EYEGP was honoured to be part of the Assunta GP Symposium 2026 organised by Assunta Hospital at M World Hotel.

Centred on the theme “Bridging Primary Care and Minimally Invasive Surgery for Better Patient Outcomes,” the symposium created an important platform for collaboration between specialists and general practitioners, strengthening referral pathways and enhancing patient care at the primary level.

We are especially grateful for the opportunity to support Dr Katherine Seng Boon Hwei, Consultant Ophthalmologist, in the successful delivery of her session on eye care. Her talk provided practical, clinically relevant insights that empower GP doctors to better recognise, assess, and manage ophthalmic-related conditions in daily practice.

Beyond the lecture session, EYEGP was given space to demonstrate our fundus imaging solutions, reinforcing the importance of early screening and timely detection of retinal and optic nerve abnormalities. Many vision-threatening conditions including diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and glaucoma remain asymptomatic in early stages. Primary care fundus screening plays a pivotal role in preventing avoidable blindness through early identification and appropriate referral.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Dr Katherine and Assunta Hospital for the trust and opportunity given to EYEGP. Meaningful collaborations such as this strengthen the bond between primary care and ophthalmology, ultimately improving patient outcomes within the community.

On a personal note, Dr Katherine exemplifies dedication to both her patients and the broader medical community. Her commitment to education, clinical excellence, and community service reflects the qualities of a truly compassionate and forward-thinking ophthalmologist. It is a privilege to work alongside clinicians who are deeply invested in elevating standards of care. Malaysia is fortunate to have such a compassionate and forward thinking ophthalmologist serving the community.

A Meaningful Milestone

We are proud to mark the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ocuvance and EYEGP, signifying the beginning of a strategic collaboration that aims to reshape the landscape of primary eye care in Malaysia.

The 8th of January 2026 represents a new chapter for ophthalmology telemedicine based services in the country. As EYEGP continues to pioneer innovative tele-ophthalmology solutions to improve access to eye screening and primary eye care, this collaboration with Ocuvance a company at the forefront of innovation in ophthalmology, particularly in advanced 3D printing models and solutions marks an important step forward.
By joining forces, we aim to deploy more efficient, scalable, and affordable eye care systems that can reach communities across Malaysia, including underserved and remote areas. This partnership strengthens the bridge between primary care and ophthalmology, enabling earlier screening, timely referrals, improved awareness, and earlier detection of eye diseases.
Ultimately, our shared goal is simple yet vital;
to prevent avoidable blindness through early intervention, innovation, and collaboration.

FREE EYE SCREENING IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 65TH BLOOD DONATION DRIVE

In conjunction with the 65th Blood Donation Drive held at a local church, a free eye screening program was successfully conducted as part of a community service initiative by Klinik Keluarga Lee, Subang Jaya. The program was made possible through the support and collaboration between EYEGP and Klinik Keluarga Lee Sdn. Bhd.

The turnout was highly encouraging, with 82 individuals aged 40 and above screened within a span of just five hours. Participants appreciated the opportunity to receive quick and professional eye assessments alongside their contribution as blood donors.

EYEGP’s team, comprising Dr. Hafidz and Dr. Arvindra, was on standby for live reporting sessions throughout the event. Eye images captured on-site were transmitted in real-time to the team in Seremban, who provided immediate expert interpretation and reporting.
The entire session ran smoothly from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, ensuring efficient workflow and timely reporting for all attendees.

This collaboration highlights the commitment of both organizations in bringing accessible, affordable high quality eye care to the community and promoting early detection of eye diseases.

EYEGP at Community Health Carnival 2025 – Taman Daya, Johor Bahru.

On invitation by Poliklinik & Surgeri Sai, EYEGP was honored to be part of the Community Health Carnival 2025 held at Dewan Nibong, Taman Daya, Johor Bahru, on 22nd June. In conjunction with the centennial celebration of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.This impactful and heartwarming event focused on promoting holistic well-being for the local community and was made possible through the joint efforts of:
- Poliklinik & Surgeri Sai
- Klinik Kesihatan Sultan Ismail (KKSI)
- Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah (PKD) Johor Bahru
- Advisory Panel from KK Sultan Ismail

The event was officiated by YBhg. Dr. Hj. Mohtar bin Pungut @ Hj. Ahmad, Pengarah Kesihatan Negeri Johor, reflecting strong support from the Ministry of Health for community based health efforts.

EYEGP supported this initiative on a charitable basis, staying true to our commitment to community service and preventive eye care. As a social enterprise, EYEGP champions community health by providing eye care management and solutions through partnerships with primary care providers.

At the carnival, we offered fundus eye screenings to help detect early signs of diabetic retinopathy and other eye diseases playing our part in the effort to promote early intervention and health empowerment.
We believe that early screening and proactive management of eye diseases can prevent avoidable vision loss. Together with primary care providers, we aim to build a healthier, more aware Malaysia through partnerships and outreach.

We extend our gratitude to Poliklinik & Surgeri Sai, SSSGAM Taman Daya, to all organizing partners, volunteers, and participants who made this event a success. The turnout of over 700 attendees and 1,300+ individual services rendered stands as a testament to the impact of united community efforts.

EYEGP at ASC 2025 – Elevating Eye Care at the Primary Level

We’re proud to mark another year of participation at the Annual Scientific Conference (ASC) 2025! This time, EYEGP was there alongside our partner company, Active Naz Supplies, who play a key role in managing the sales of medical equipment and services

Together, we showcased our portable fundus camera and the EYEGP Image Review System (EIRS) technology - a powerful combination designed to bring specialist ophthalmology support directly into primary care settings.

Our goal remains clear, to bridge the gap between primary care providers and ophthalmologists, enabling earlier detection of vision-threatening conditions and improving access to specialist review right from the GP or community clinic.

As non-communicable diseases (NCDs) continue to rise in Malaysia, the burden of eye complications such as diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and glaucoma becomes even more pressing.

Early screening and timely referrals can make the difference between sight and blindness. That’s why our mission to empower primary care teams with practical tools and ophthalmologist-backed reporting is more relevant than ever.

Together, let’s make proactive eye screening a norm, not an afterthought.

EYEGP at the MMA Negeri Sembilan x IMU Surgical Procedure Workshop

EYEGP is proud to have been part of the Ophthalmology team for the recent Surgical Procedure Workshop, organized by MMA Negeri Sembilan in collaboration with International Medical University (IMU).

Together with Dr. Sangeeta from Columbia Asia Hospital, Seremban, we supported the event by showcasing the use of portable fundus cameras in clinical settings. During the session, we provided a live demo on how this technology can be integrated into everyday medical practice.

Participants had hands-on exposure to digital funduscopy, and we highlighted how early screening can significantly help in detecting eye conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, especially in primary care.

At EYEGP, we remain committed to supporting doctors and healthcare professionals by making eye imaging accessible and practical in various medical settings. Thank you to the organizers for including us in this impactful initiative!
