In Conjunction with "International Day of Older Person",
Geriatric Unit and Rehabilitation Medicine Department of Sibu Hospital organized a Roadshow, emphasizing on the "Geriatric Rehabilitation in Elderly"

The event was officiated by Sibu Hospital Director Dr Nanthakumar A/L Thirunavukkarasu; Public talk delivered by Geriatrician, Dr Sarah Iyang Kiyu, and "Caregiver training programme" introduction by the Methodist Pilley Institute team members.

Booth Exhibitions included, Health Screening booth (by Alpro Alpro Pharmacy), Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Pharmacist, Dietitian, Pharmacist, Psychiatry unit/ MENTARI, Social Welfare (Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat); also, the NGO supporting teams, like the Sibu Parkinson's Society and Methodist Piley Institute.

The event draws the attention of public, healthcare staffs and other agencies in Sibu community, together improve the awareness of the care for the elderly group.

余醫生介紹
馬來西亞第三大致死因，前兩者為心臟病和癌症,
中風年輕化，大風危險因子：高血壓，吸煙，糖尿病，高膽固醇，肥胖／少動／生活壓力，家族史年輕心血管疾患，性別，遺傳性，

腦中風 (Stroke)，分為 出血性 和 阻塞型 中風

症狀快速檢測 FAST
Face – 臉部嘴角歪斜
Arm – 肢體無力，抬手發現下垂現象
Speech – 發語時口齒不清
Time – 緊急call 999求助
强調早就醫，這很重要，影響後續回復工能
急診室，腦部照影 斷層掃描 CT Scan 分辨出血或阻塞性。
● 出血型則讓神經外科醫生評估是否需要手術，控制血壓，入院觀察出血變化
● 阻塞型則在黃金時間內 (4.5 小時)可以注射血栓溶解劑治療，打通阻塞的血管。

情緒 -
失去後悲傷的過程度Process of Grief／Loss(失去健康) -
(1) 否認 Denial（不可能是我，等一下應該可以又動起來，醫生應該看錯／說錯而已），
(2) 憤怒 Anger（對自已／別人，這一切是誰的錯），
(3) 議價／討價還價 Bargain（願意以什麼交換，如果我能動起來，願意為社會付出一切）
(4) 沮喪 Depression (逃避跟其他人互動，重複回想以前回憶，放空)，
(5) 接受 Acceptance（事情都發生了，面對吧）。

(2) 回社會面對哪些挑戰，工作老板和家人的支持很重要。
