Probably missed out on our earlier post earlier last year or forgotten.

Clove , scientific name Eugenia Caryophyllate

Commonly used as a spice in curry, it has long been used to temporary soothe tooth aches. With its exceptionally high Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity (ORAC) value of 314,446 , clove has many uses. Key actions listed are Antiseptic, Analgesic, Prevents Vomiting, Antispasmodic and Eliminates Parasites. The key active ingredient is Eugenol.
The Chinese Material Medica list it as warm in nature, working on the spleen, stomach and kidney meridians. Works best with ginger. A good aromatic herb that is a stomach tonic as well helps to kills off a number of bacteria and parasites.

Do note that Cloves are contraindicated with Turmeric. Means cloves should not be taken with turmeric. Which helps explains why a meal of our local curry does not have the desired healing effect. And this adversing effect partially explains why cloves is not widely used by herbalists.

Try to mix your own curry paste or look for those without cloves for your next healthy curry meal.

You can seep some cloves and a few slices of fresh ginger in hot water and drink to soothe your stomach problems or pain relief, but do remember to stay away from curries which has Turmeric (kunyit).

Cloves are also used to prepare creams for topical application to treat acne, boils and fungal infection.

This dog was basically paralysed and could not stand up. We had to feed him by hand and was basically wondering when his days will end.

Constantly barking out in pain and many told me to put him to sleep. No heart to do that.

I tried " RAIN SPRAY" hoping to ease his pain. And amazingly after a few days he got up and walk.

Or rather wobble, no more in pain...now enjoying his retirement... cats also don't bother. 🤣
