🌱 Kitchen Crew Project

At The Nido, learning doesn’t start from worksheets.
It starts from real life. We aim to foster a sense of community,
so children learn to contribute, care for others, and grow as part of society.

Our Kitchen Crew Project is a long-term, authentic Project-Based Learning (PBL) experience designed for preschoolers aged 5 & 6.

In this project, children are not cooking for fun.
They are cooking with a purpose.

🍽️ Every day, our Kitchen Crew prepares food for all the children in the centre.

This means they must:

Plan properly

Follow routines and hygiene practices

Work as a team

Think about others, not just themselves

They learn that their work matters —
because other children are waiting for what they have prepared.

🧠 They plan and organise
🤝 They cooperate and take turns
💬 They communicate clearly
❤️ They develop empathy, responsibility, and pride in contribution

This project is not about producing a perfect dish.
It focuses on developing executive function, independence, social awareness, and real-world competence.

很多人问我：
“5、6 岁的孩子，真的需要做这些吗？”
“会不会太辛苦？”
“他们这么小，做不好怎么办？”

但我想说的是——
正因为他们还小，所以更需要真实的学习。

在 The Nido，我们设计了 Kitchen Crew Project，
不是为了让孩子学会煮什么，
而是让他们学会一件事：

👉 他们的行为，会真实地影响他人。

🍽️ 在这个项目里，孩子每天必须为园里所有的孩子准备食物。
不是玩具厨房，
不是角色扮演，
不是“做给老师看”。

而是真实的责任。

当孩子知道：

别人会吃他们准备的食物

如果不认真，别人会受影响

如果合作不好，事情就无法完成

他们开始明白什么叫责任、付出与贡献。

我始终相信——
责任感不是被教出来的，
而是在被信任中长出来的。

我们不是急着把孩子推向学术，
而是先把他们放进生活里。
让他们知道：
“我有能力。”
“我被需要。”
“我能为这个小小的社会做点什么。”

这，才是我心中真正的教育。

不是为了考试，
不是为了比较，
而是为了培养一个
有能力、有同理心、愿意为他人负责的人。

#小学安亲班
死记硬背的时代，过去了！

在传统的教育模式里，孩子的学习往往等同于：
❌ 重复抄写
❌ 强行背诵
❌ 单一练习

但我们的观察告诉我们——每个孩子卡住的原因，都各不相同。

一个真实的转变故事

图中这位华小生，面对听写任务时，曾经 struggle了整整半小时，正确率仍不到一半。

我们的老师没有让他继续“死磕”，而是停下来：

1. 观察与分析：他到底在哪里卡住了？
2. 方法诊断：是记忆方式问题？还是汉字结构理解障碍？

结果发现，孩子需要的不是更多遍的重复，而是一个可视化、结构化的学习工具。

我们做了什么？

🔹 引入色彩记忆法：用不同颜色的笔划分汉字结构
🔹 拆解笔画逻辑：让孩子看清每一笔的来龙去脉
🔹 赋予学习自主权：教他方法，而不是给答案

结果？
10分钟后，不需要额外练习——
他已经能独立写出10个听写生字，而且理解为什么这样写。

这就是我们的教学理念：

✅ 技巧先行：授之以渔，培养终身学习能力
✅ 全人培养：不只学术指导，更重视品格与积极心态的建立

Exploring Vegetables Through Touch and Art! 🌱🥕

Today, our little explorers engaged in a fun and sensory-rich activity centered around vegetables. The children explored different vegetables like broccoli and carrots through touch, feeling their textures and shapes. They also enjoyed stamping paint using these vegetables, creating wonderful vegetable prints on paper!

This hands-on activity not only sparks curiosity but also promotes sensory development, fine motor skills, and cognitive growth. By engaging their senses and encouraging creative expression, we help nurture their natural curiosity and love for learning about healthy foods and nature.
