Why doesn’t insight automatically lead to change?
Most people already know what they “should” do.
Set boundaries. Rest more. Stop the pattern. Speak up.
But knowing isn’t the same as being ready.
Change doesn’t happen because someone told us the right thing.
It happens when we’re in the right stage to receive it.
In therapy, we often see this:
People aren’t resistant.
They’re not lazy.
They’re not unmotivated.
They’re just in a different stage of change.
Before action comes awareness.
Before awareness comes readiness.
And before readiness, there’s often a long period of “this is just how I am.”
When we understand how change actually works,
we stop pushing and start meeting ourselves (and others) where we are.
