A new study from Kyoto University & University of Tsukuba has revealed something fascinating —
𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻.

Researchers observed 28 women and found significant changes in the brain’s posterior cingulate cortex — a region strongly linked to memory and emotional regulation.

Using MRI scans, the team discovered that this area became more active, suggesting the brain may respond positively to continuous olfactory stimulation.

Even more exciting: 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝘇𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀. This means gentle aroma stimulation could be a simple, affordable and non-invasive way to help keep the brain active as we age.
