Meet the newest addition to our team of skilled specialists at Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City — Dr Mohanasundram Pillai A/L Arumugam, Consultant General, Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic & Liver Transplant Surgeon.

Dr Mohanasundram's expertise includes liver transplantation and hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) malignancies. He has also underwent training in minimally invasive HPB surgery at the world-renowned Asan Medical Centre, Seoul.

His notable achievements include being part of the surgical team that successfully performed Malaysia's first split liver transplant, playing a key role in leading the Liver Transplant Programme in Hospital Selayang, and reviving the Paediatric Liver Transplant Programme at Hospital Tuanku Azizah, Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia's first Photon-Counting CT Scanner is now here at Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City.

Today marked the launch of this landmark healthcare milestone at our hospital, which was officiated by YB Datuk Seri Haji Dr Dzulkefly bin Ahmad, Minister of Health Malaysia. Developed by Siemens Healthineers, this cutting-edge scanner delivers ultra-high-resolution imaging with significantly lower radiation, enabling earlier detection and clearer diagnoses across cardiology, neurology, oncology, paediatrics and much more.

At the launch, we were honoured by the distinguished presence of Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Sir Dr Jeffrey Cheah, Founder and Chairman of Sunway Group; Dato’ Lau Beng Long, President of Sunway Healthcare Group; Dr Seow Vei Ken, CEO of Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City; Ms Siow Ai Li, Managing Director of Siemens Healthineers Malaysia; and Dr Adam Pany bin Abdullah, Senior Consultant Interventional Radiologist at Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City.
