We are proud to announce the successful launch of Malaysia’s first hospital-based 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 (𝗖𝗣𝗚) 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿, developed under the leadership of Dr Jennifer Leong Siew Mooi, Consultant Clinical Oncologist (Programme Leader), and Dr Anand Sachithanandan, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon (Programme Advisor), together with the CPG Development Group at Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City.

This milestone marks a significant step forward in advancing evidence-based oncology care within our institution, providing clinicians with a comprehensive framework to enhance the diagnosis, treatment, and management of lung cancer patients.

The launch was officiated by Dr Low Kwai Siong, Medical Director of Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City, who commended the team’s dedication in developing a guideline that reflects the latest clinical evidence and supports our hospital’s commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

The event also featured keynote addresses by Dr Jennifer and Dr Anand, who highlighted the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based practice in improving clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.

With this CPG, we aim to empower our healthcare team to deliver evidence-based care — enhancing the quality of life for patients with lung cancer.

Together, we remain committed to advancing clinical excellence and setting new standards in cancer care at Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City.

In conjunction with Lung Cancer Awareness Month, we hosted the 𝗣𝗳𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝟯 on 8 November 2025 at SunMed Convention Centre, bringing together participants for an afternoon of meaningful sharing and learning.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our speakers, Dr Vance Koi Yung Chean, Dr Jennifer Leong Siew Mooi, Ms Evelyn Ngui, and Ms Elizabeth Choong Wee Nei, for sharing valuable insights on cancer care, mental well-being, and lifestyle impact.

Special thanks to our lung cancer survivor, who bravely shared his journey and inspired hope in all of us. Also, a big thank you to Pfizer for their continued support in empowering lives through this meaningful initiative.

We were truly honoured to welcome Faisal Halim, one of Malaysia’s most celebrated footballers, to our Orthopaedic Centre at Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City.

A familiar name to Malaysians and football fans across the region, Faisal is known for his outstanding performances as a key player on Malaysia’s national football team on the international stage. He made his mark at the 2023 Asian Cup, scoring a remarkable goal in Malaysia’s thrilling 3–3 draw against powerhouse South Korea — a strike later voted by fans as the Best Goal of the Tournament.

His passion, perseverance, and sportsmanship have earned him recognition as one of Malaysia’s finest forwards. Meeting someone who not only excels on the field but also embodies the dedication, discipline, and growth that define a true champion is truly a privilege.

At Sunway Medical Centre’s Orthopaedic Centre, we are proud to play a part in supporting athletes and individuals in their pursuit of recovery, resilience, and peak performance.

We were honoured to welcome AIA Malaysia’s leadership team and over 100 life planners to Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City Kuala Lumpur for the AIA Leaders Tour 2025 — a day dedicated to advancing collaboration, innovation, and compassion in healthcare.

The event was graced by Ms Tung Hsiao Ley, Chief Corporate Solutions and Healthcare Officer of AIA Malaysia; Dato’ Lau Beng Long, President of Sunway Healthcare Group; and Dr Seow Vei Ken, Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City.

The event featured insightful sharing sessions from Dr David Lee, Consultant Clinical Oncologist, and Dr Andy Tang, Consultant Haematologist & Transplant Haematologist, followed by an empowering panel discussion, “Stronger Than Cancer”, moderated by Mr Ooi Zhen Yang, General Manager of AIA Health Services, with panelists Dr Chew Bee Yan, Medical Advisor of AIA Malaysia, and our esteemed consultants.
