We are closing the year on a significant achievement – the completion of 1,000 Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) cases for adults & children at Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC), making us the first private hospital in Malaysia to reach this milestone.

Our BMT journey began in 1999, when SJMC became the first private hospital in Malaysia to introduce Bone Marrow Transplant services. After 25 years, this milestone stands as a testament to our long-standing commitment to advancing specialised, life-saving care for our patients.

This milestone was made possible by the collective efforts of our holistic care teams - including doctors, nurses, transplant coordinators, pharmacists, and support staff - whose dedication and collaboration have been the backbone of each patient’s transplant journey.

We also extend our gratitude to the selfless donors and their families, without them all this would not be possible, and whose generosity has given patients a second chance at life.

A hospital’s smooth operations depend on its strict adherence to rigorous safety standards, ensuring that wards, facilities, equipment, and maintenance work are conducted seamlessly to provide continuous care, safety, and comfort for patients.

Starting with the projects & retrofits work team, whose role involves key upgrades to the hospital’s building and facilities, such as a new paediatric ward and canopy drop-off. People like them ensure that the completed works comply with statutory regulations from MOH, local authorities, and key safety regulators like BOMBA & DOSH.

Then there are facilities management, technician & chargemen, whose team maintains and inspects the hospital’s essential building systems, electrical systems, generators, and more. This is to ensure continuous water, medical gas, HVAC, and electrical supply to the hospital 24/7.

While not patient-facing like doctors or nurses, this team of dedicates their time to undertaking new building projects, upgrades, preventative checks, and routine maintenance work, which is what allows the hospital to remain a safe and reliable environment for everyone.
